Wel, today I got an email from Amazon saying my copy of DNF was posted, and tonight while watching TV there was an advert on for it. Guess it's finally arriving....

Interested to know what this game is like... it looks like it's aimed at particularly immature 14 year old boys, which makes me think it's going to be not so great.

my Balls of steel edition for pc arrived about 8:30 am just installing it now. The balls of steel edition is not bad a little statue some cards, Dice poker chips and an art book as well as postcards and a sticker.

Am not expecting it to be Cod for graphics or gameplay. I remember playing Duke on a really expensive olivetti at school as a teen with our it Teacher at lunch and wanna recapture that mispent youth for 5 minutes

i just started it up and apparently in the first section if you go into a cubicle to take a leak you can pick up a log from the loo to throw at people. No idea why

You can also draw 'stuff' on a whiteboard with some crayons as well.

i saw that bit in the demo. poo flinging though is a different concept for a game.

So far am quite enjoying it storyline is well Lean but plenty to kill so all good, Graphics are ok not awful not amasing.

I played the demo on Monday or Tuesday which I got cia the Boderlands GOTY edition. It was pretty average to poor I thought, there wasn't much in it to grab my attention. Not even sure I'd pick it up as a bargain bin title as I don't think I'd actually enjoy it.

i decided to ignore the demo (after playing it ) and kept my preorder, was ment to arrive today but was called into work so missed the delivery, stupid amazon use Yodel and their closest depot to me is miles away .

Will have to wait till monday to play it! ugh

Well been playing it and as you go through it its very unlike duke 3D tbh, you will notice when you go through the game at least 80% of the engine and graphics look like they were made for the early 90's xD Played about 2 hours of it and I am bored to tears, the humour isn't there either. The multiplayer is just bad atm both in fun and playability, FSAA and FXAA may as well be taken out of the game for the little good it does.

Wishing I hadn't bought it tbh. I would say steam sale if anyone is looking at getting it. Basically looks and feels as if GearBox got the engine, added the rest of the story and put a few hi res textures on some parts of the game, at times you will be walking about and it's as if you walked back to the early 90's and you are playing a game made for the 3DFX wrapper. In fact that's unfair on 3DFX as that was awesome. Personally I think they should of scrapped what they had, started over and done something decent. It will sell well due to it being Duke but in all honesty, I am not digging it at all at present.

Half the problem is when Duke 3D was out I was 14 - 16 when I was playing this game, back then it was awesome, today I am 29 and it just doesn't stack up any more. I think I chuckled more when I autographed the kids book with obvious childish drawings and and microwaved a rat rather than the actual gameplay/story itself lol.

Our IT Support cover guy said that his arrived on Friday monring. He's text me this morning to say how much he was enjoying it, and that it is "just a bit of fun." I guess as with most things it'll be down to personal taste. I'm just hoping that this re-kick-starts the franchise, and drives it onward an upward. Crysis 2 was IMHO supposed to drive the technology of first person games forward, but didn;t as it compromised it's credentials to appeal to a larger market. Far Cry 2 probably was technically excellent, but wasn;t something that I'd install again as it just failed to hook me, and the COD: MW series are great fun and nice stories, but they do take themselves a little too seriously. The only one that I've heard described as FUN is Team Fortress 2, and I've not played that yet...

I guess my expectation is a game I can pick up and play and maybe have a chuckle at. DN3D definitely had that in buckets....
