it's especially important if you were in the bfh beta but never logged on much afterwards as the original passwords were unsalted hashes

Phew. Nothing it seems. Weird though, I am quite sure that I did sign up to Battlefield Heroes (but never played it).

EA are keeping a lid on this quite well. Although with all the recent hacks on major names, I think it maybe old news now.

I would have posted this but I thought all you techies would already know! I didnt realise they were keeping it under wraps - although with hindsight I did hear of the leak through gaming press rather than Ea themselves.

    Yep I'm there too

E-mail passwords changed as a security measure, along with paypal and facebook. Can't think anything else would really matter or be worth hacking. Bank didn't use generic passwords anyway

Or you can download the full list of usernames (without passwords) that were distributed here:

Seems to me it's about time companies started taking digital security more seriously.

Re: EA games was hacked - ALERT

*Sigh* Mine's on there too. I had an email from EA that I had to change my password for my EA accounts two days ago, but thought it was a spam phishing effort and deleted it. Then when I tried to log in to BFBC2 last night my password was no longer recognised! Fortunately I could change it going though EA directly and all is well (I hope). I think I need to change a couple of sites that I use that same password, but I don't think any of those have any sensitive data on there.

Re: EA games was hacked - ALERT

Why are people using the same password for games as email?
I have a common set that cycle.
10 of which are 10digit+ alphanumeric.

bank & email across all accounts are different and never used anywhere else.

i have a bank of 7 i use on forums so get 1 password and you're not getting all my accounts.

    simple security people.
