I have purchased FM 2011 and during installation it has asked if I want to create a steam account or play offline?

What are the steam account advantages?

None really, you get automatic patches and I think steam achievements, for what they're worth.

Possiblty you won't have to keep the CD in your PC if you use steam?

It's effectively auto-patching, achievements, and no need for the disc.

The online activation without steam of past years has been removed.
