Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution
I finished it with 29 hours play on Tuesday. Only missed the Cloak & Dagger mission.
To get the 4 different endings in 1 fell swoop make sure you talk to Taggart and Sarif on the last sections of the game. Taggarts location is off the outdoor walkways after you speak to the guy with the beard in the control room. Instead of following the marker he is on the second level down off to the left.
You get a call for help from Sarif as you see the walkway blocked by some boxes you jump over. If you jump over them and havnt spoke to taggart you cant get back, so make sure you do that first. Then once you jump over the boxes there is an elevator, use that and Sarif is in that area, behind some crates that are blocking a doorway.
Then after taking out the boss walk into the control room and save after you get the speech and the buttons open up. Left side is Sarifs recommendation, right side is Taggarts, middle is about you and the door to the left is the final one. So you can watch one then load and watch the next and so on. Dont forget to watch right through the end credits to get the D Project achievement and a small sequence which ties into the first game in the series.
Definately been my favourite game this year, would love it if they remade the first one using HR game engine and mechanics, would work so well.

I started that way, got about as far as the third mission, got side tracked with weapon upgrades so just decided to kill or use the knock out move depending on how I feel xD Sometimes it's both, knock them out, loot them and then shoot them in the head as it still counts as no kill :)
Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Have to say, I'm very impressed with this. Playing it slowly (one-and-a-half main missions, one side mission completed so far) but loving every minute...especially as I'm using stealth and hacking.
Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution
really want this game...but waiting for its price to drop a little more :)
Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution
I had to dump 14 hours of game play. I still have the save at the second boss but I focused on hacking and stealth/recharge, get to boss and you need the armour to survive the electricty when it hits the water soaked floor. Seen it done without it but that person had 10 health packs I have 3 xD So stupidly my other save was 14 hours ago and at the start of the second arc to get to the second boss so I have all the side quests to do again.
In a way I don't really mind as I am now looking in places I skipped over last time but its a ball ache that I have to do them all again. There are points though where I am running through it quickly so I am probably gonna miss out on points I need to gain to get more praxis kits etc. Trying to remember where all the side quests are.
Great game, but a shame there are points where if you don't follow a specific path in upgrades (which you don't know you need as there is no mention of upgrade paths for certain bosses in the game) then the game is essentially a dead end. I've tried numerous times with health packs to kill the second boss without the upgrades but by the time you get her to attack the second generator you have no health packs and you go down faster than here.
Lesson learnt really, I should be more proactive with the multiple saves xD
Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution
*Spoiler for defeating second boss*
There's 2 areas either side of the room where there isn't water. Place an EMP mine in the middle of the floor, get her to run into it, she'll be EMP'd, but if you placed the mine centrally (in the square manhole cover thing) the water won't be triggered. Move up to her ASAP and unload as much chain gun ammo into her as possible, aimed straight at her head. I took her down in 1 volley. This was on hard as well.

I had the same problem, although got lucky with this boss and was able to carry on and it didnt really effect the rest of the game for me.
I adopted the tactic of staying around the central area so as she charged I could dart round the corner, luckily she glitched and got stuck on one of the cables coming out of the floor, so I just sat behind her pumping ammo into her until she died :D
Thoroughly enjoyed the game to the point im considering doing a replay but without killing people.
Played it on Hard, took about 24 hours although I know I missed a few things which is another reason for the play through.

You are the third person to mention this glitch xD I still have the save so I might give it a try but going back to the start of China, I am finding a lot more that I missed the last time, just not looking forward to hitting the TV station again as I literally checked every room and hacked everything I could for the XP, will have to do that all again if I stick to the previous save.
Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Yeah I know I missed some stuff so I am very tempted to get hold of the strat guide and get all the upgrades and stuff I can.
i wasnt able to complete part of one of the side missions as my hacking skills werent high enough :(
Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution
2nd boss, as she charges you all you need to do is hit her with the stun gun (not tranq dart)... It'll short her out long enough to pump a clip into her, but back away cuz she generally will still do her Typhoon as she recovers...
Rinse and repeat 3 or 4 times.
Got to the helicopter crash last night and idiot that I am, forgot all my emp mines/nades at home
Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Well was expecting a super hard mega boss for the 2nd one, 3 rockets later she's dead, very disappointed. :P

I went the other route and ended up with heavy machine gun, 150 health, pistol, shotgun, tried for a few hours on the hardest setting to take her out and wasted all ammo I had (maxed ammo too) and she was still standing xD did the stun trick but she won't go down. Wished I had the fraps footage for it as I literally pumped max ammo with full capacity from piston, revolver, shotgun, combat rifle and heavy machine gun and she was still standing xD I either have a glitched second boss or I need to restart from another save and go the armour route.
Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Spolier:
Code:
You don't have to pump any ammo into her from what I understand, just stun her in the power grids 3 times on the outside and she's dead, if you search the outside lockers their should be EMP mines which you can place on the power grids so she fries and they explode at the same time. That was on medium so you may need more power grids.
On a side note why doesn't this forum have damm spoiler tags lol.

I can't use that method as it requires either health packs or armour due to the whole floor being electrified when the grids blow, they fry you faster than they fry her. I have no armour upgrades at all and went strength, stealth and hacking.
Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution
I did that second boss with no armour upgrades as well. It took a few retrys but I just made her typhoon into the power generators on the walls and jumped around like a loon when the elctricty went arcing through the floor.
I did this with 3 x painkillers on normal difficulty.
Overall tho... I was a bit dissapointed. I felt there was a bit of a lack of side quests (I did most of them) and frankly the ending has limited the replay value for me. I might fire it up to check out the 3 endings I haven't seen but I doubt it will get another play through.
Couple of things I also didn't like were the inventory (auto arrange button for the love of JC denton!) and the fact that you could only recharge one energy bar at a time, I think there should have been an aug to allow you to recharge 2 or 3 bars. I find the idea that as Jensen gets tired what he really needs is a twirl to get him back into the combat farcical.
