Keep hold of 2 EMP grenades for the end of the first China section when you are told to go to a hangar for extraction. You will need them as heavy weapons make things more difficult than what it actually is.

Love this game, clocked up about 16 hours on it so far

Sounds a lot like the first mission on the first game!

Money's a bit tight this coming month (LAN and stuff), so I'm going to have to be patient and get it at a later date (maybe in a Steam Sale; probably Xmas! ). Will also give them time to patch it up a bit.

Glad to hear it's living upto people's expectations. IW was bit of a let down (even more so as one of my save games got corrupted so never finished it).

Enjoying this game - I can imagine that there'll be many more hours spent lost to this game. Was thinking of buying Space Marine, but think I'll just wait for it to drop in price - this will likely take me through to SWTOR. Can't imagine me struggling to replay this

    Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Yer enjoyed my little play last night, sadly out and about today so can't sit down yet but just got out into the main area of Detroit and already run into a gun smuggler and found myself a stun gun in a lock up , found passages blocked by carts i can't move without upgrades.

Love the fact its just as hard as the first one, make a mistake and you get punished for it, loving the art style also, yes it does look dated but plays fine even on a aging laptop like mine.

Anyone found out how to use the punch threw walls? not found any yet do they show up with a outline?

    Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution

You will notice cracks on the walls that can be punched through. It does outline them also if there is one there, it shows a door sized outline in yellow (like anything else in the world that can be interacted with), then you just hit the required button / key to smash through it. Bear in mind though, if you do this and there are guards near it will trigger an alarmed state due to the noise.

**slight what could be construed as spoiler below!!**

I've just reached the 2nd human / cyborg boss (dont know if the 2 huge robots count as a boss or not that were at an extraction point) Either way another damned tough boss battle that can kill you in seconds. Have to omit combat and see if there is something is there that helps methinks!!

They really don't detract from the game itself and play into the art style of the game, just looks a little odd looking in the shop windows and it looks like something from a 2000 game lol.

I would say it was my best game if it wasn't for the damn bosses . They're so detacted from the rest of the (frikin' awesome) game that it's such a shame they were ever included. I nearly considered starting again as it was (almost) impossible to defeat the 2nd boss with the augments I had (I literally tried about 15 times, all with different strategies to no avail... raged, went back to it a day later and managed to win with ---> 003 <--- health left. If I'd of died I would have rerolled the character and lost 13 odd hours of game time).

I read somewhere (god, I read to much) that it's actually the CPU which is more of a bottleneck in terms of FPS in DX:HR than the GPU

    Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution

I think I've encountered a bug which stops me from progressing (or I'm incredibly unlucky). After going to Shanghi I wandered into the brothel and poked around in the rooms, came across the locked room on the 3rd floor and immediately hacked it. Entered the room some guy goes "you're not meant to be here", pulls out a gun, so naturally I kicked his face in and dumped the prostituted body off the balcony, as you do.

Anyway, turns out you need to steal this guys security card for the 2nd mission. I go there and realise I'd already been there. Luckily his security card is now on the floor (but under a glass table) and I can't pick it up. Hence I can't complete the mission! Argh.

So don't enter this room when you first go to Shanghi.

    Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Even if you do it the right way the card is in the same place, glass table at the end of the bed. I had to crouch down to pick it up. But managed with no issues.

2nd trip to Shanghai now. Trying to find the sewer that does the Talion A.D quest, got the start for it, found the guard and his PDA says head into a sewer but there is no directions. Ended going through a sewer that continued the story missions inadvertently, at least I wont have to do that run again.

See, I just talked to the guy behind the glass and managed to talk him into giving me access to the morgue, also went for a snoop around using the vents to hide.

He's the only guy who I haven't won an argument with so far. In fact I found him so frustratingly stubbon in not letting me through that when I did manage to sneak in I hacked the door to reception and shot him in the back of the head with my silenced pistol.

... Yeah, don't mess with Jenson!
