Borderlands 2 (PS3//XBOX//PC)

It's official, Borderlands 2 is in development and coming out sometime after April 2012.

Game Informer's running it as a feature of their September issue:

The September issue of Game Informer contains 12 pages of exclusive details and screenshots from Borderlands 2, and outlines the numerous improvements the developer has in store for your return trip to Pandora. Don’t expect just a couple bazillion more guns this time around. Gearbox is introducing new and more diverse environments, smarter and more powerful enemies, and an improved mission system capable of delivering a better story. This and much more will be revealed in the story, as well as our full month of additional online content.

I had so much fun with the first one, can't wait to see where Gearbox takes it next. Not long to wait as they'll be showing it off at Gamescom in a couple of weeks

excellent, it was a brilliant game... it was very repetitive though but i dont know how they would get around that, eitherway i still finished it a few times in coop, solid stuff .

I still can't put my finger on what it was about Borderlands that I loved so much. The controls were clunky, the game was flawed and repetitive, the multiplayer could be ropey....but its the most fun I've had in a game for ages.

yussss , i didn't even mind the repetitiveness that much. if they can keep the formula the same it will be another hit. hope they make another aspect of the game as overflowing with variety as the weapons were - custom characters?

Love Borderlands, didnt bore me in any way. I even bought DLC for it, got Zombie Island and Secret Armoury even though I dont normally go for DLC. One of my all time favourite games.

Knew it would only be a matter of time before a sequel was announced. Cant wait to see more of the planet and a few different creatures / factions.

armoury? I missed that one, I got the zombie island (great) and underdome (which I didn't think much of that, just an insanely hard arena, might be better mp but on your own it's stuppidly tough)

I didn't have any issues with the controls, I did find it a bit repetative, because just doing one play through (if you do everything) you go backwards and forwards so much you know where everything is.

the random weapon generation is great and that the some of the mobs use them is great.
just the fixed maps and mob spawns gets old fast, esp as you go to an area for the main story quest then you get sent back to that same location two more times for side missions.

if they could figure out a way to somehow randomize the maps a bit that would be a major benefit to long term play.

How does Borderlands work then? Is it basically a singleplayer/multiplayer game that's far better if you co-op?

I had the original on the 360 and loved it! My biggest problem was that I got it quite a while after my friends (about 5 months after release) so they didn't really want to play with me much. But when they did it was epic.

I heard, however, that the PC port wasn't all too good? I don't know

Yes. Its a game that should only ever be played with others. I would go so far as to say if you could only play it alone then don't bother buying it, it will make you suicidal.

its fine, loads of Multiplayer teething trouble to begin with but that all got sorted.
