Hi guys,
I wasn't really sure whether to put this in hardware or gaming, but it's more of a peripheral than proper harware. And it's gaming related
I currently use my phone headset for voice chat over skype. However, it's not very good and it picks up the sound from my PC. What I'm looking for is a gaming headset, but ONLY for the voice chat. I picked up a set of Logitech Z5500 a year or two ago, and I'm looking at using them for 5.1 surround as opposed to a gaming headset. Which is a shame because night time gaming is no longer viable
I've read around and found that you cannot separate chat in Source games, which is a bit of a bummer. But I think I'll be using Skype mostly, as for the superior quality. I *think* I need a USB headset to split the sound though.
Is all of this right? Is there any particular headset you'd reccomend? I don't mind wired/wireless, but I game for a long time so battery life is a concern.
Thanks very much
Also, while we're on the subject of peripherals: Logitech G500, Sidewinder X4, SteelSeries Qck. I'm looking at getting these. Are they any good? I'm also considering the G400 rather than the G500. Thanks again.
