Best Place to Preorder Games To Get Them on Release Date?

Specifically I was wondering about Skyrim...is there a place to preorder it to almost guarantee it will arrive on release date?

The ones I was considering so far were:

    • Amazon (with Amazon Prime)
    • Tesco
    • Shopto

I want to preorder a hard copy, Steam is overpriced, as is going to a shop to pick it up. Does anyone have any experience in preordering game and has an opinion on which company is the best?

    Thanks,
    Varmint

Shopto personally, normally would say game but my Deux Ex arrived a day late on preorder. Shopto refund you £3 if it doesn't arrive for the release date.

Game - almost always very good at getting things early. Depends on the publisher, but Bethsoft aren't so fussed about early leaks unlike others.

GAME and shopto have been good for me.

When I used to use a business address GAME consistently delivered a day early, but that's not always an option for most people.

Game and shopto have been fast in the past..though this time i went for Tesco due to the price (PC Skyrim and BF3 for 45 quid). Fingers crossed.

Re: Best Place to Preorder Games To Get Them on Release Date?

I`ve always found Play to get the games to you on release date. Got BF3 pre-ordered from them so I hope so!

My copy of Deus-Ex arrived bang on time though.

Shopto are my current supplier of choice, also they sell Steam keys for some games and their preorders are good - I got Deus Ex for £19.99 and I have Football Manager 2012 on preorder for a little less.

Gameplay have always been good to me - though maybe not the cheapest. I think an extra pound generally gets you the game on the day of (if not the day before in some cases) release.

Re: Best Place to Preorder Games To Get Them on Release Date?

Usually from a random guy, on a crumby stall, burnt on to a few disc a month or so before release. It's usually a crappy beta version without all the levels, and has half the sound effects missing. But hey, I get it on time.

    I JEST.

I've never really bought a game around release date, I wait till a few decent reviews are out and when the initial price has dropped down...anyone else do similar?

Re: Best Place to Preorder Games To Get Them on Release Date?

I know I will take some stick for this....but I use ultimatum game keys.

They sell foreign steam and origin keys......many are region free so it doesn't matter - just stay away from the ones with VPN in their title as they require you to pretend to be from elsewhere.

If they can afford to sell the games cheaper in Russia, then I will buy from there, grey imports have been around for longer then I can remember.

Space Marine, FIFA 12 and BF3 I have pre-ordered from there recently, each one came to £18. The SM and FIFA keys I had a week before release, I reckon the BF3 key will come early as well.

Stick? Not from me, I've done the same and I can't see the problem with it in a global market. I'm sure the EULA of some companies disagree but you're paying for a legitimate product regardless. I shall stand with you as we are burnt by the puritanical dullards

Game, ShopTo and Amazon have never failed to get it to me on release date.

Play have delivered before release date a few times. Out of those 4 I pick the one with the best pre-order or Ltd. edition.
