Anyone pick this up yesterday? I used to love the old nhl games on the snes and i was tempted to get an one a few week ago only learn the new one was due out - would anyone recomend it - seems to bet getting decent reviews

I bought NHL 2003 a few years back after a recommendation, which I loved, but I've not bothered since. The "colour commentary" was one of the highlights imo, although I don't think the ice hockey fans were too impressed.

As a massive hockey nut and NHL game fan, the series is getting long in the tooth with the same old commentary (they're on a 5 year deal I think) and the 'tweaks' year on year. However, I do think this is the best of the new (now old) generation...

I'm not one for the Goalie fights, but being able to interfere with the netty is a nice touch. But it can be a pain when you're setting up in the zone! Passing it around and then one of your louts runs the netty...

As far as the series goes, it's pretty much like Fifa really. Year on year not much changes, but what does is welcome.

There's a few early bugs in this one though which is unusual, however they usually get ironed out pretty quickly.

- First bug was Online Pass didn't work, now fixed I think.
- Second up, stats in Be a Pro etc aren't updating...


I feel this has the pick up and play factor that I think most hockey games have had... for hardcore fans, it's a welcome update.

baseball has 3 bases , you must reach

i like ice hockey too , but tennis has to be the ultimate game ..
heck , most sports games are fun , i just dont like racing games though
