Yes they do work on xp but they are a little hard to set-up, nearly all amiga games work now with these emulators though.

    Another good emulator is winfellow.

I cant give you links as i dont think the mods of hexus like people talking about downloading games even if they are really old.

Very easy tbh m8. The menus are really well laid out, the joystick was already setup The only thing I had trouble with was finding the 1.3 Kickstart ROM, which you need to play most games. The only thing I am having trouble with now is getting AGA games to work

Guys, as Ravens said, downloading ROMs of games you do not own is very dodgy ground.

However, most of the old games are now freeware or the slightly greyer area of abandonware... I will not post links... sites that tell you whether a game is one of these are easy enough to find on google.

And before anyone kicks off... I KNOW you WEREN'T discussing a warez issue, I am merely and politely stating a fact... so don't go all stroppy on me, ok?

Buy Amiga Forever from Cloanto, comes with fully licensed ROMs - 1.3 and 3.1 IIRC, with AmigaOS 3.9 (workbench, in other words) and a BUNCH of other stuff.

If you are wanting to run the AGA games on WinUAE you need kickstart 3.0 or 3.1 as they are the only kickstarts that support the AGA chipset. Just setup the 3.0 or 3.1 in the same way as the 1.3 settings (graphics, sound etc) for running the games but under one of the tabs there is a checkbox for AGA, check this and away you go with the AGA games after loading the images etc.

Only thing is that the AGA games take ages to load even if you have the drive speeds upped, I've found that the games arnt to stable either. Mind you if you get it running just right, visually they are really nice.

Overall the AGA games arnt really worth bothering with though, there are only a few of them but they arnt really big titles. Favourite one I have is the Psygnosis game Brian the Lion and that is just a standard platform affair.

At the time the AGA chipset with Kick 3.0 or 3.1 was actually the Amiga 1200, the business model at the time. It didn't run to many of the games that worked perfect on Kick 1.3. If you are playing things on Kick 1.3 and its working perfect then just stick with it in my own personal view.

I have all the kick roms from 1.1 up to 3.1 and 1.3 is the most compatible for the gaming, it was on the Amiga 500 at the time (so was the 1.2) especially after you installed the ram upgrade. The Kick 2.0 was the Amiga 600 which had the inbuilt ram upgrade and due to it having the built in ram upgrade most the games that required the full whack of ram didn't actually work on the initial release as it was a tiny bit short and the games needed that little bit more, quite bizarre really.
