    Thief 3

    It's out

I didnt play the first two but I'm definitely going to get this, really looks like my kind of game.

    Anyone had a go yet?

I guess this means I'll have to upgrade my Ti4200

Had a quick play earlier and looks awesome. Will have to find time to play it. Its jumped to about third in my waiting to be played games list just behind farcry and battlefield vietnam.

The demo ran pretty well on my Ti 4400, you just have to remember to turn Bloom off and adjust the settings appropriately.

    theif 3...hmmmm well

i like it, its fun to play and has enough variety to keep you playing to the end. gfx are pretty good but ive seen alot better. AI is ace tho and the sound fits in perectly as you wld expect from a thief game. Still it doesnt beat thief 2 - and as with Deus Ex 2[IW] theres one reason - its been Xboxed again - although not to as bad a degree. The only real problems that i found with Theif3 were the smaller map sizes due to the xbox having less memory than our 1337 PCs, and consequently this means more loading times and less free form gameplay. textures are also not as high quality as they could be but meh theif2 has pants gfx and its still one of my fav games of all time. last prob is the 'light' crystal thing, the thing that tells you how visable you are. its HUGE, absolutely pointless huge. Cant yet see how i can blame this on bills evil box but i'm sure its behind it

Anywaysome of these probs could be sorted with a patch so i aint too worried. All in all a good game and one you should own - but its not as good as theif 2

Yeah there definetly smaller than Thief 1&2 but still pretty big and i thought the levels were too big sometimes in the first two.

I'm getting some good performance out the game, was shocked about having to run it without AA but i have been tweaking and found few nice settings if anyones interested.

I run it at 800x600! shocking to think you have to run it that low but i do's not look that bad hardly noticable i have multisampling at 2
AA turned off and AF at 16xforced with my 9800 pro.

Runs very well at those settings and is immersive beyond anything i have played this year
