    EA Phone Support - Excellent

Just thought I would share this with everyone.

A few month back I used the online live support trying to get a few of the EA games I had boxed and bought on Steam onto Origin. Basically they told me no way no how could they do it after trying for about 10 mins. That was around May this year.

Last night thought I would try again. So I found the UK number for their support and spoke to a lad called Astin, he done everything he could to possibly help me. He managed to get Mass Effect and Crysis onto my Origin account. I also mentioned that a few of my cokezone codes wern't working so he gave me a 10% off code to use on Origin also.

He spent a little while getting this sorted for me, he couldnt add my boxed retail copy of Bulletstorm or my C&C First Decade unfortunately but the lad did try.

So kudos go out to EA on this one. Its what customer support / care is all about

IT used to be called the EA Download Manager. It's basically an EA version of Steam.

    What number did you call?

Considering giving it a go myself......FIFA 12 has no surround sound on PC and my online support from EA over it has been the worst by far of any I have received......in fact to say I have "received support" would be pushing the boundaries of truth

    I called :

    0870 2432435

You can tell it redirects through to America and my line was a little bad but like I said, credit where its due to them. Worth giving a shot, they will most likely be able to help you out with it being a new release.

Have you tried putting your key into Origin?

Always good to hear, hardly anyone ever writes up online of good CS experiences, but you see them everywhere when they give bad CS.

P.S. You might wanna try 01483 463000, listed as an alternative to the chargeable 0870 number.

Re: EA Phone Support - Excellent

I'd always found EA's online support fantastic, used to be at eauk.custhelp.com if I remember rightly - and most of the time when people were complaining about EA's customer support they hadn't actually used that aspect of it.

That was a long time ago though, not had any problems with EA games in recent years (or I just haven't bought any of them).

Re: EA Phone Support - Excellent

Just to put into perspective how appalling their online support is....

I sent them a request mentioning the lack of surround sound and that it was for PC and that I had tried editing INI files etc to get it working......

same thing happened to me but (presumably) someone had used a keygen to active my copy of bf: 'nam. i emailed them offering to take a photo of the booklet with key but they'd already gone ahead and added the veteran status with all the other bf games.

I've used that help line - Goes to Austin, Texas apparently.
Very helpful and patient and not afraid to say they don't know when an odd glitch screws something up. Don't bother with the forums or the online chat. Complete waste of time.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.
