    Farcry performance

Sorry I know there was a post on this a while back but I couldn't see it.

P4 2.66ghz, 512mb DDR, 128mb 9800 pro. The game runs great considering how spanky it looks, but sometimes it stutters about a bit. Am I right in thinking this is down to memory? Oh yeah and I am currently only running the demo.

    ta muchly!

Even on a high end system with the full game you sometimes get the odd stutter. Normally at the start of a level or when reloading a level. There is a patch out for it. Wouldn't mind betting some of your problem is due to you using a demo version though.

Yep its the memory far cry eats up to about 800mb at time- this one loves a gig. Also the demo is not nrealy as optimised as the full game and you'l notice a decent perofmance increase just going to the full game

Yeah, the full version is definitely more optimised than the demo.

yeah I love the stake/grenade launcher, there is something strangely satisfying about stapling an enemy to the floor/wall with his foot/hand

and the stake grenade combo is fantastic, especially when you kill an enemy the other side of the map first attempt!

I could only manage to bunny hope to just under '15' speedwise, is there a knack to it?

I think there is some timing with bunnyhopping but I can't for the life of me get it right online - in fact I've given up on it online, it could have been so good :/

using the pain secondary fire to dray enemies into the air is always good fun (you get an increasing number of extra coins by keeping them airbourne for longer) - the faster you do it the better.

One other thing that is quite tricky but can be very useful is body-surfing or object-surfing by standing on a body/object and repeatedly pressing the secondary fire of the pain wep - you can get really high using objects

The only disappointment with the game was completing it on Trauma level (what a let down ending) I was really expecting a serious sam type showdown in Hell on Trauma where you fight your way out killing hoards of demons on the way --- o well

Well i just played farcry, and wow : o For my system it recommended high settings, but I chanced it and changed to very high with high antialiasing as well.

It runs fantastically well! I tried the render modes, cartoon... meh just a novelty, but paradise, my god is it purdy. This is the first game in a long time to make me stop and admire the view, I am on the deck of the ship at the mo, I know full well there is a bloke above who knows where I am, but I couldnt help but look at the distant islands
