Gaming Expo's in UK/Europe

I was chatting with a mate last night about E3 and how I would love to go, however I didn't realise it was for gaming professionals only. Now I do have links to some of the larger games developers but I doubt that would be enough to get me in, so I am wondering if there is anything else as big in either the UK or Europe that the general public can visit.

I do remember several years back when meeting with Hexus for something in Leicester Square (something to do with that Fatal1ty bloke) that me and a few others like Stoo went to a gaming expo somewhere in London afterwards which was pretty good, but I can't remember where it was or what it was called.

Does anyone know of any others that are worth going to?

Eurogamer Expo by any chance, Earls Court?

Tickets are on sale now I think, if you are a VM customer you get discount.

There is the London McM which is games and comics rolled into one, normally around October ish.

It may have been Earl's Court, maybe someone can remember that far back? I'm pretty sure I got the train there with Stoo and two others, but can't remember who exactly.
