GAME not stocking Mass Effect 3 and other titles

Key point of interest to me is their need to treat all publishers equally - the way it's written makes me wonder what EA are demanding of them that some other publishers are not.

Game are struggling, seems EA had the worst payment terms. Sensible business decision if the terms were that onerous, but has to be set against the potential profit from selling a large number of games which are published by EA.

Damaging to their market share in the longer term, I would imagine.

Already reordered me collectors from play, since its the only place that had any left lol.

Its also the fact EA won't be supplying it with games from now on, pretty big nail in the coffin tbh.

They were taking pre-orders, but won't now be fulfilling them.

I was in Gamestation today and the guy was saying the issue affected them too, Something to do with EA getting sniffy over the whole preowned titles and selling VIP passes seperate to the games...

Well personally speaking this is something I'm struggling to take ether side on.

EA is currently doing everything possible to monetise ME3 as much as possible by locking out content and tying it to other products.

At the same time GAME has been successfully dictating to publishers because of the market share it holds, with games like Warhammer 40K: Space Marine and Saints Row 3 being unavailable on steam on release in the UK, while at the same time they aggressively push 2nd hand games sales because they make more profit on them.

So I can see why EA has got fed up with GAME, esp with this extra DLC on release if at the same time GAME was trying to do it's "you must not allow it to be available on steam in the UK on release" thing, while at the same time continuing it's rather aggressive 2nd hand sales.

I'm not as against the 2nd hand market as TB but that's more to the way I rarely buy new games on release and the 2nd hand games I do get tend to be a year or more old, although with now both steam and (before that) the increase in cheaper re-releases I don't buy much 2nd hand anyway.

EDIT: I think Gamestation and GAME are owned by the same company.

Thanks Pob!! I will not getting ME3 then until the DLC is part of the normal package or the ripoff edition is cheaper.
