What do you think of Bioware's decision to charge extra for a launch DLC for ME3??

More details here(thanks for Pob for pointing this out):

The DLC is actually important for the storyline of the game it seems. However, you either need to pay more for the DLC at LAUNCH or buy a much more expensive version of the game.

The version which has it is the N7 Collector’s Edition which is around £55 AFAIK. The DLC costs 800 Bioware points on its own which is around £6 to £7.

Comment by chap in video on the development picture doing the rounds saying why there is a launch DLC:

Re: What do you think of Bioware's decision to charge extra for a launch DLC for ME3?

No, not impressed at all. I'm pretty angry about the ME DLC situation already, for two reasons.

    1) They don't drop the price. The game is now cheaper than the DLC. That's ridiculous.

    2) They don't sell it through Steam. Release a GOTY edition and get rid of this Cerberus network nonsense.

It's just getting worse. And the worst part of it is that I enjoy ME so much, and as things stand I've not enjoyed any of the DLC.

Re: What do you think of Bioware's decision to charge extra for a launch DLC for ME3?

Always judge the game on what you get when you buy it. Nothing more, nothing less. If the game needs DLC to be enjoyable then factor that in. If it doesn't, don't.

    OK,then!

BIG ME3 SPOILER - DO NOT READ IF YOU WANT A SURPRISE!

    Start spoiler.

The DLC involves the story of a Prothean character who is part of the main game storyline.

    End spoiler.

Re: What do you think of Bioware's decision to charge extra for a launch DLC for ME3?

It seems the DLC might not be actually a DLC per-se. According to some people,if you look at the ME3 demo files they have detailed definitions for the, ahem, added content. It will be interesting to see if the DLC is simply re-activating dormant parts of the full install,ie,it is unlockable content.

I might cancel the order, this has well and truly pissed me off.

Luckily I don't have to spend time writing out the many, many reasons I'm ok with day one DLC so long as it's meaningful and well developed. While everyone else was making amusing .gif's someone on the internet had already summarised my opinion fairly well in a handy graph
