    Counter-Strike: Movement is in Slow-Motion

    Hi,

When I play cs 1.5 the my player seems to move in slow-motion. Everything and everyone else seems to move at the normal speed though. One minute it is fine and the next I can hardly move. The gun im using at the time also goes into slow-motion mode. How can I fix this problem?

    cheers

    Sounds like you're lagging?

Thanks for the reply. Nah I dont think not lag mate. I have a near constant ping of around 20 on most servers. Been playing cs for a long time and I've not seen lag like this. Also I can see everyone else moving at the normal speed which I dont think happens when you get lag.

Looking in the config I can see a section of values that might be connected to the problem. Here are my values:

    lookstrafe "0.000000"
    lookspring "0.000000"
    cl_forwardspeed "400"
    cl_backspeed "400"
    cl_vsmoothing "0.05"
    m_pitch "0.022"
    m_yaw "0.022"
    m_forward "1"
    m_side "0.8"
    m_filter "0.000000"

    Do these look normal?

Does it sound like a bug? I re-installed once already and that didnt fix the problem. Maybe I should try another install.

Does it happen with any other games?
Try change the display from OpenGL to Directx to see if it might be an driver issue.

    Other than that:
What rates are you using? try adjusting them.
Re-install it, re-install graphics drivers, stop o'clock anything just stuff like that really.

Sorry if it ant much help havent touched CS since Steam came out.

    Thumbs up

Real, if anything works wrong with me, the 1st thing i do is reinstall the prog or swithch off for a while (the comp) and the next time 90% that it will work. The same thing i advise to you - just kill it and install again, that may help. By the way, you play multiplayer CS or the built-in missions? If multiplayer, it may be the server error or something with the soft responsible for communication with the server. Again, try to reinstall the whole thing, that helped me a lot of times. I hope you fix it, life is dull without CS!

Santana hes talking about CS1.5, not the pants newer versions which have no relation to the older games. the newer versions are not CS =) [1.5 doesnt have built in missions btw]

real - does is happen on every server you try? does it happen in LAN mode?

Although you may not want to hear this - cos i hate having to do it - you might just have to try a complete re-install - that means deleting everything from the folder and starting fresh with the *shudder* default config - no binds, optimisations etc

if it still happens after that then its clearly something up with your pc =)
