FORUM COMPETITION - 2 copies of Metro 2033 on Steam

Metro 2033 is quite cheap on Steam as todays daily deal so I have took it upon myself to purchase 2 copies of this awesome game to giveaway to 2 of our beloved members.

We have 2 reviews of the game, one done by HEXUS and another equally good user contributed review :

    http://hexus.net/gaming/reviews/pc/23024-metro-2033-pc/

    http://hexus.net/gaming/reviews/xbox...2033-xbox-360/

This game will give the DX11 users a chance to flaunt their Tesselation......ooooerrrrr or simply make you go look for a dry cleaners for an underwear cleaning service after playing a few hours in the dark (no I will not be paying for resulting soiled underwear before someone asks! )

To win one of these 2 copies of the game I would like a brief survival guide for the Post Nuclear War Russian Metro System including gadgets you may need and everything else.

Simple really, this can be as serious or light hearted as you want. Once entries close I will put it to the rest of Mod / Admin team to select the 2 winners to make sure it is not biased in any way.

The competition will close midnight Tuesday 29th May 2012 and the only other specification I ask is that you must already have an active Steam account so I can be added as a friend to gift the game and minimum forum post count of 25

Extended now till Midnight Wednesday 30th May

    Good luck

I have a copy of the game myself - thanks Ferral for doing this!

Metro2033 is a very atmospheric game - also the benchmark is not indicative of how most of the game will run,so don't be put off entering!

Thanks Cat, just thought its near the end of the month and people are usually broke by now waiting for their next wages and what do Steam do, put an awesome game on the daily deal and you end up missing it. I know loads of people will already have this game but many others will have missed out on it with Stalker being the predominant Nuclear disaster type game.

What a great idea for a competition. Come on people lets get some entries in and good luck all. I already have the game, it was gifted to me by my nephew when it came out, so I'll wish you all luck.

    Enjoy the competition.

Yeah, spread a little happiness as the saying goes.

Thought it would be nice to do something like this, just shy of 8 quid to do a competition for the forum users is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Just hope we get a few entries

I've decided that I want to enter as I want to play the game, not Metro 2033, but this game. Do you want us to post our answers on here or to PM them to you?

Re: FORUM COMPETITION - 2 copies of Metro 2033 on Steam

This is my entry for the Metro 2033 competition, my survival guide to the game, inspired by many other great games, this is not for the prize, just for the play along factor, I know there are people who can come up with better, so let's see it, you, yeah you reading this now, get typing.

    Equipment:

Survival in Post Apocalyptic Russia will not be easy, so I thought I would start my guide by giving details of the kinds of equipment a Post Apocalyptic warrior would need to survive and succeed in the Metro system of this once great and now decaying city.

Bee In a Jar - Taken straight from The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past, this item will serve as a great defense when confronted by small groups mutants, these normally ferocious monsters that are hell bent on destroying every surviving human will be reduced to cowering little girls and run aways screaming at the sight of a bee in a jar. Use with caution as dropping the jar will kill your bee.

Banana's - From Mario Kart, when facing charging mutants toss out some bananas so the mutants slip over buying you some reload time.

Crowbar - If I've learnt anything at all from Valve games it's that it will be impossible to survive any situation unless you have a crowbar at hand.

A Non-Combat Pet - Look if it was good enough to help in Word of Warcraft it must be good enough here.

Tetrominoes - In my Post Apocalyptic Russia the survivors would use the playing pieces from Tetris as currency, use these to buy jars so you can catch bees to put inside them. It will take a full line to buy a single jar, but if you spend four lines at once you can get some extra jars, just remember not to drop them.

Cool, now this is the type of info I am looking for in a survival guide to the Metro for the competition

Surprised there hasnt been many entries, I have 2 copies of the game sitting in my inventory waiting to be given a new home.
