    Project CARS

    http://imgur.com/a/KzRbd

    Photorealistic driving game for the PC.

    It looks incredibly pretty.

    But here's the thing - there comes a point where graphical realism is pointless because the rest of the environment is unrealistic, like the fact that you're sat in a swivel chair using a mouse and keyboard...
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Triple screen gaming, http://www.fanatec.de/ racing wheel, surround sound - pretty much as close as you can get without spending huge money.

    Huge money = this

    Re: Project CARS

    Those screenshots arent the best to show up the real level of this game you can only know once you try it, the physics are aswell very good and i can only imagine what it will be once they introduce the new tyre model. And lets be real for 10€ theres no racing game that gets near what this can deliver and you can play it now without waiting for 2013 if you support them

    I wish i could show you some of the best pics of the past months but unfortunatly i have to post 5 times + wait for some activation in these forums....

    Environments is still yet to be completed properly thats why they look a little out of place. They've improved the rain as well since i last played it but the effects don't actually show up on the vehicle itself yet, i.e. droplets on the windshield and so on.

    It will get better.
    Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
    CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
    TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
    for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

    It looks really good, I would just want to use a triple monitor setup and most importantly a racing wheel. So thats even more money to spend.

    This costs much more than 10€ unfortunately - you have to pay 45€ to get a free copy of the game.

    There also needs to be a good single player 'story' to get me interested in paying a premium rate - even if that's working your way through classes and upgrading parts etc.

    To get a free copy of the game yes, but you can play the current pre-alpha by donating 10€ that you get as a discount on the game when it is released.
    I started as a Junior Member with 10€ then upgraded my account to the Full Member and now i just paid extra 50€ to be a Senior, so in the end you get always something.

    Heh, indeed we test the game but instead of just doing that the developers allow us to participate in the game development by helping them out in the whole process from gathering materials and reference pictures for the tracks or cars, they also accept out suggestions and some features got even included in the game.
    Thats why its called Project C.A.R.S. Community Assisted Racing Simulator, besides a developer that hires 5 or 10 beta testers to test a game are basically just making the game for those 5 or 10 instead of doing for a big community based on their opinion and feedback.

    But i understand your opinion and i accept it

    I don't have any friends that are into Bear. Mind you, Boo-Boo did look quite fetching dressed as a lady...

    I'm rather sceptical about the idea that WMD are accepting 'much' info and features into the game. They had in their minds an idea of what the game would be like, and that's what we'll get.
    I think the key in this is people getting to see how a games made, getting to watch the game get better week after week.
    If they listened to the community what you'd get is a die hard sim, as it's those people that are involved and pasionate about such a project, in reality a much more comercial idea would be to make it a kind of shift 3. Which may be more unpopular with the community but take more in sales.
    I would think that project C.A.R.S is going down the shift 3 route myself, and be a great game for it, but i'm not sure the comminity will follow that wanting a sim.
    Time will tell though, there's been little or no work released for the handling/tyre modelling yet so it's difficult to tell where they're gonna go. But time will tell.

    Re: Project CARS

    I'd love to see them going down the Shift 3 route - there are plenty of other sims for the PC but we don't have a Forza/GT equivalent - Shift 2 was the closest we got to it.

    So normally I'd be happy with Slighty Mad.. but then Ferrari happened, which I can't really explain.
