What non-existing game have you always wanted to play?

If you look at Kickstarter, it's fairly plain that even highly qualified game designers struggle to get funding to turn a great idea into a full game.

But what if it was really easy to get your idea turned into a full game?

Given total freedom in design, what would you envisage as the game you've always wanted to play but that has never been made?

For me, I've always really wanted to play a game along the lines of Call of Duty 2's gameplay, but fighting for the German Army (Wehrmacht) against the SS. Admittedly, it never really happened, but there were several occasions when it could have done. I don't think anyone would ever make it, not least because of sensitivity issues, but the CoD format was very enjoyable and there are some very intriguing ethical issues in there that could be explored.

I've also always thought that a cross between GTA and Fallout would be brilliant - the environments and story of the former, combined with the open-world and expanse of the latter. I'm sure if anyone did it for real then one would compromise the other, but I can dream

Sim Primeminister. Act 1 run an election campaign, bend the truth and pretend you really will act for the good of the country and try to win enough votes to form a government. Act 2 find new and inventive ways to shaft the country, break as many election manifesto promises as possible, all while trying to appease your party donors and spivving as much money from public coffers through "expenses" while the gravy train permits. Act 3 retire, become a public speaker and publish memoirs while overlooking the dis-housed underclass and bankrupt middleclass you helped to create. Act 4 - bonus pack - you've peacfully passed away, comfortably thanks to the private health insurance and generous public pension you ring fenced for yourself in Act2. You enter the mission as you're about to meet your maker. Put together a defence team for your trial and try justifying your past actions to one who won't accept bribes, backhanders or a peerage....

A horror game set in a well-lit world. Darkness is an easy crutch.

I would love to see a very good graphical Battleship game - imagine them gun turrets going off and see really good explosions when the shells hit the enemy ship.

I don't know of any game that was based on ships only! war - submarines - tanks, but no ships!

Re: What non-existing game have you always wanted to play?

A while back I sort of freaked out a couple of friends (one a journalist and the other worked for a publisher at the time)
We where talking about the staleness of the fps WW2 game genera, I freaked them out by suggesting, playing as the gremans dureing invasion of poland, or how about the bettle of france? (you know the one that ended with the british scrabling back across the channel)
My point was these are parts never looked at and from the greman side, it fits well because they where out numbered but with better equipment and weapons, sounds like most single player first person shooters to me.
The responce, no reputable publisher would touch it and it would anger a lot of people, the fact you could make it historially accurate still wouldn't make it acceptable.

The one game I would love is remake AutoAssault with the CarWars lisence.

A decent Star Trek RPG. The last one was A Final Unity, over how many years ago? The DS9 attempt was ok nothing ground breaking.
