A New Breed of Game is Evolving....

    wanna know what it is?

Its real time, full effect, total emersion war fare.

You lot all play 1942, and also TiG has just started on Soldiers. He is loving the Tank War Fare....its hard, its tricky, in places it's slow, and its not very arcade.

Lots of us are fully addicted to IL-2 Forgotten Battles, with Aces Expansion, and its a life drainer...and it is fully emersive.

So all I need now is a full real time ships and U boats game...

Lets face it, most players WILL spend 3 to 4 hours on a game in one hit...imagine a U boat strike on a convoy of Naval vessels.

FUll real time Tank Warfare is dawning right now......

Its evolving guys.....tactics rather than rapid responses are becoming the requirements. There IS a place for Unreal 2004 and DoomIII, BUT to win on most games, especialy multi player games, its about planning, structure, team work and communication.

    Bring it ON

    Desert Combat Zak, DC.

Men on the ground, armour supporting and then helecopters and aircraft providing the top cover. Snipers with binocs calling artillery in on positions on the other side of the map. 64 players per server - it's awesome.

    Total warfare, total immersion..

What I wanna see is a MMOFPS - massively multiplayer online first person shooter.

Imagine playing a game like MOHAA, but there really are a thousand other players invading Omaha beach with you...

Erm, Planetside anyone. I know its only been around for a year, but still. Give it SOME credit.

    To those unaware:
Tanks/infantry/max armour/aerial/armoured vehs/artillery/sniping/infiltrating/support/indoor and outdoor fights/loads of people on one continent and now:

    STOMPY ROBOT THINGS*

    *Now with extra "Stompy"

I would like to see an online mmofps with a strip of land about 1-2k wide and 50 long, with the bits of it loading up as required and the two sides fighting along a frontline sprawling across the map - moving it back and forth and enjoying the new locations of the new capture points on one continuous map. I'd love it to be set in ww2 but i may accept part exchange for modern warfare.

    umm BF1942..immerisive? ROFLMAO

sorry but its no where near immersive, DC improves on it but its still a really bad game imho. theres no depth to the game, no feeling that your a part of something...the guns seem to fire something like rubber... A big gripe of mine is the sniper rifle. You shoot some1 with it, clearly hit them yet they dont die/fall/stop/do anything except still exist. I cant really express how much i dont like this game

but meh each to their own

I know what you mean Agent. You can really tell the difference between a melee of players on an onslaught server and a game when people work as a team. I played in a match last night where teamwork helped us take the enemy powercore in Frostbite in less than five minutes Being on the other end of that isn't much fun though

In contrast, another game a few days ago saw me appeal for some tactics and get told by one player (unceremoniously) **** tactics! He then proceeded to target me for the rest of the match. What's the point in that?

This Desert Combat game sounds interesting, what is it then?

If you're playing DC then you're clearly not hitting them. You do realise that you have to aim in front of them and not at them - oh and also allow for bullet drop over distance?

Also, DC gives you the M82 .50 cal. No mucking around with this baby, any range one shot kills, simple as!

    www.desertcombat.com for info.

You can download it from Blueyonder - it's free as a mod to BF1942

Hmm not really sure that i'd agree with that to be honest, i've been playing co-op things with people for years and years, I love the team work aspect more than most (as i tend to be rather too competitive - and this way it doesn't piss people off

Spent hours playing things like dungeon siege as a team, Mechwarrior 4 mercenaries with mod for co-op play (which is ace with a joystick as it happens) - mech commander 1 and 2.

Before that things like RTS games like Red alert and C&C against larger numbers of computer AI, Warcraft 3 with friends against 2* the number of enemy computer players.

The harder the game the better imo, it gives you the challenge that when you finally over come it you feel great

I preferred red orchestra to day of defeat lately. Russian front (ppsh and ppd ) and no sights or bullet counters - omg! Rules!
