wate of momey? well, it's a BETA program, which is FREE, for owners of counterstrike condition zero, the ati half life 2 bundle, or members of the cyber cafe program.

unless you're a very very single-minded individual with an unhealthy counterstrike addiction, it hasn't cost you anything

lmao, i agree with hex. You DIDN'T pay for it. Valve only just decided who to let the beta out to. Reinstall steam

well, just got back from pub - I'd hoped that it would actually keep up to date (like it promised!) and now - 35 minutes of estimated download time before it's ready to play.
all very strange... now it's 7 mins - go figure.
I'd hoped that it would actually download, given that I restarted steam before I went out tonight. Who knew you had to restart the client to get it to pull updates.

You have to go into properties of CS:S in the games menu and tell it to always update otherwise it doesn't

Ok, i'm trying to say this nicely 'cause you're acting like a timmy. You DIDN'T pay to play CS:S beta. When valve made those vouchers they hadn't planned that the people with those vouchers were going to be playing the beta. It said the voucher was for HL2 and NOT for CS:S beta. If you want to act like that go and complain to valve.

you could have also paid £98 for an el cheapo 9600xt which does the business too!
Neon - have you cycled the client? A good couple of times in case you're having the same problems I am.

Kezzer... was set to automatically update... cycled the app this morning - then it pulled another update inspite of having all the settings on all the games set to automatically keep up to date.

Oh well - it's not much of a stretch! Was fun getting some gaming in last night - I forget exactly how fast you have to be in cs! It's quite scary... what's even more scary is that I was plonked firmly in the middle in terms of score!

A short sentence for you all...

    "It's only a game."
