The Magic of Gaming: Experiencing 1940s LA in the 21st Century

Thought this was a terrific article:

    http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...t-and-the-city

The reason I wanted to play L.A. Noire with my game-hating, beard-doubting dad, though, wasn't just to show him how different games could be to the vision of them that he had in his head. It was also because I'd heard a lot about how authentic this particular game's atmosphere was, and I wondered what somebody who grew up in L.A. in the 1940s would make of it.
So true about how people think gaming is all about CoD and shooting random gamers who all scream noob at each other... it's great when an article like this crops up every now and again showing that there's a lot more to it than people might think.

I've played LA Noire and it's probably the most interesting game I've ever played. It's a shame Team Sydney is gone though, I was hoping for an epic sequel to this epic game.
