    Re: FarCry 3 - Who's excited?

Hey guys have you noticed that FARCRY 3 performs slow on an Radeon GPU but is faster on an Nvidia GPU.

I've noticed it runs maxed out on my mid/high-range ATI HD7870 @ 2560x1440 around 45fps if that's your definition of slow. What's your faster nVidia card and how much did you pay for it. Mine cost £180.

What do you base that on? Are you having trouble with a particular card, or is it just a general statement?

In general, FC3 tends to perform better on AMD cards in a given price range based on benchmarks I've seen. A driver update might help if you're having performance issues.

    Re: FarCry 3 - Who's excited?

No what i meant is whenever hexus does a review on GPUs Radeon performs efficiently well on other games but not that much on FARCRY 3 where Nvidia has the lead.

    For example

and this is what i don't understand.

    Re: FarCry 3 - Who's excited?

The 7970 is just above/on level with the more expensive 680 in all those charts. The *far* more expensive Titan is understandably faster, albeit generally not as much as you might expext considering the price difference.

The 7990 vs 690 comparison is obviously fairly reliant on multi-GPU scaling, some games scale better than others and some better with one brand or another. Updated drivers and profiles can improve things further though.

Also, the ~5fps differences between competitive cards in some of those tests probably fall within error margins and don't prove a noticeable difference in games.
