Is toca race driver 2 worth getting even tho it installs the nasty StarFore 3 drivers??

Think he means the copy protection. It installs a 3rd party program to check your DVD disk. It's the only copy protection out there that hasnt been bypassed (i think). Personally I have no problem with it.

I was going to get Toca2, but some of the horror stories I read over Starforce3 put me off. I use my PC for work, so couldn't risk it being screwed up.

I also tried the demo that was on one of the PC mags, and although the game was nice, it just didn't grab me enough to want to buy/risk the full version. I'd suggest you try the demo - must be available for download. Me, I'm holding out for GT4 on the PS2. :-)

that GTR game is goooooood, hard tho , my old MS sidewinder steering wheel's force feedback doesnt work with it, does anyone know of a software patch for it (i have the 3.02)

i bought toca2 the other day... only £16 ish from play... well worth it....

good laugh... but im stuck on the rally driving stages. car seems too twitchy.........

so i started a new profile and put the cheats on so i could experience the other cars.

I will probably get toca2 for my birthday in 2 weeks time. Fancy a race or two after i had a go in single player? Maybe a hexus race if anyone else has it?

i am swaying towards getting toca, GTR is good but a little bit, how could you say, unpolished?

When i played it it seemed the most realistic racing ever, and i didn't really think about polish at all. I'd get tocaRD2 now and then GTR when thats out, whenever that may be.

GTR will be with us November-ish.
It seems to be slipping like an eel in a vaseline sponsored slipping contest.

But it will own. TOCA is mario kart compared to GTR

Purple: that demo you played was never supposed to be released into the public domain. It was for press types only to drum up some interest.
Since then the whole menu system has changed, physics have been drastically changed (more realistic esp. crashes) and the multiplayer code has been rewritten, hopefully should allow 45+ players at a time on a dedicated server. I've said it before, and I'll say it again...

gonna have to buy a new steering wheel then arn't I. any one got any ideas as to which one is nice, and doesnt cost the GDP of a small country

Steering Wheels are all pretty cheap these days, unless you go mental.

I use a Saitek R440 FFB wheel. was about £40 from... somewhere i cant remember. Logitech Force and Momo are good too. Cant really go too far wrong with any of those.

If you're really into your sim racing you may want to look at getting a seperate H or sequential shifter too.
