    So, Assassin's Creed 3

    Any good?
I've played every one so far, and 2's still my favourite, so I've been thinking about getting the new one. I was told by the wife that it may be best to wait until the new year though. However, looking at the review on Amazon, they seem a bit mixed. Some people are saying it's brilliant, and really moves the franchise one, but others are saying it's full of glitches, the combat system is flawed, and it's a bit boring. So, I was wondering what Hexites felt about it before I tell her indoors that if I was looking for a new game, it would be something else...

    Re: So, Assassin's Creed 3

Aside from the fact that it specifically takes place in the days leading up to 21.12.2012, I'd say leave it to the New Year and try something else. I've been playing the PC version and it's just such a bloated, unfocused, frustrating game. It also treats all players as newcomers - Best example for me is that in the fifth chapter, there's a sequence of missions explaining the notoriety system... even though it has barely changed. One mission for ripping down a poster, one mission for bribing a herald, one mission for paying off a printing press. Not good missions either.

It eventually gets better, but it's just so full of stuff that is nothing to do with assassinating people. You spend more time as a ship captain, a landowner, a human resources manager and a general busy-body than you spend as a guy stabbing people. In fact, you pretty much spend more time dramatically assassinating wildlife than you do assassinating targets.

Encountered my fair share of bugs too. Convoys permanently stuck under attack, and holes in the game world. More reasons to wait for it to become cheaper...

Looking forward to playing but the setting of the game doesn't appeal to me as much as the previous games' environment.

It's not as good as AC2. They've added to the amount of faffing about again, whilst the story missions feel samey... and the control system *still* causes you to accidentally stick to surfaces when you try to run in a straight line. 2 hit the perfect balance of faffing about and story-based questing, and I feel they've been getting worse and worse on that front.

Still, nothing in AC3 is as bad as the VR sections from AC:R.

Thank God I tried this game before I bought it.
What a way to ruin a franchise! QTE events just ruin the game. You in a fight ? Hello QTE! Press certain button at a certain time and you have won the fight! What a sense of accomplishment!

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BUY THE GAME!
