Exclamation Just baught Far Cry! Acourse some issues....

Hey guys! I just got this game yesterday, really nice!... Yet some problems still. I have this one major one thats really ticking me off. Everytime I join a game with punkbuster on it kicks me out after like 30-50 seconds and says "There is no Packet Flow". What the heck is that? I know I have a router but is that the problem? If it is, isnt there a way to make it better?

    Thanks!

    Oh P.s.
The game runs really nice on my computer but still I want it to be like perfect... I'm going to give you guys my system specs and if you guys know of any tinkering or maybe overclocking the videocard or something might make it better that would be a lot of help!

A gig of RAM will help a lot, and of course, anything extra you can get out of the GPU and CPU will help that little bit more.

Vaul, 1 gig of RAM will of course help, but I doubt that's what's causing the problem.... well it shouldn't be!

catattack, have you updated your PunkBuster files manually? See if that helps.

You mention too that you have a router, so I'm assuming this is connected up to a broadband service? How fast is it? Are you downloading other stuff whilst playing? Do you have anyone on your home network whilst playing too? Could all be causes IIRC.

Allen - My suggestion was in reply to his PS, which was asking for any ways to improve performance.

Cat - A big percentage. FarCry likes to use 600-700mb, 512mb isn't ideal. More RAM is always good; two 512mb sticks of your current RAM would be good.

yeh another 512mb and that would be a damn good Far Cry machine. realistically you wont be able to get more performance without spending alot of money after that.

Punkbuster is stupid. It kicks everyone out. It has an issue with NATs/firewalls. No idea what ports you need to open or anything though

More RAM wont particularly help performance in FarCry but you'll notice a lot less HD thrashing/stalling in game as textures/sounds get loaded as you pass through a level making everything a lot smoother.

Loading times and game exit times will generally improve and you'll be able to run/multitask in WinXP a lot better.

Far Cry runs really smooth on meduim settings on my PC (see sig for specs).

In multiplayer, how do u re-spawn? or do u have to wait?
