    Doom3....

I think one should play it as it was meant to be. No flash light taped on the gun.
This will probably ruin the atmosphere.

I've read that the BFG9K, is worthless in this game & that it can be stopped with 1 single bullet?!
That's sad, seeing as it was the most awesome/powerful weapon in the series.

Is there a Cyber Demon & Spider Mastermind?

So is this a short game?
Some people have completed it all ready.

Or maybe they just rushed through/cheated?!

who cares.. we are all interested anyway and will probably buy it at somepoint.

I am sure the multiplayer will be worth a go for folks that have LANs in their flat.
The BFG was ACE before... but you had NO chance of avoiding it unless you got round a corner by some fluke.. Made for some interesting multiplayer that did. does the word "free4all.wad" mean much to people ????

Doom 3 is a fantastic game, best FPS since HL, the atmosphere is pure genius, scariest game Ive played since System Shock 2 ( killer monkeys!!!!) If you play on the harder levels its certainly not too easy and youll be scorunging ammo.

re: "Doom 3 is a fantastic game"

Doom3 blows goats. Big time. Can't hold a candle to either of the original two Doom games.

Sorry, just had to add that to restore the balance. :-)

    Still, each to his/her own.

Is there a Cyber Demon & Spider Master Mind in Doom3?

What exactly is Zen on HalfLife?
I've read a lot of people comparing "Zen" of HalfLife, to "Hell" of Doom3!
    Are they that similar?

I've only played Halflife once you see.

    Ahh..
I've read so many inconsistently comments about Doom3, it's getting confusing. Apparently some people love it, some hate it & others are somewhere in between.

re: "What exactly is Zen on HalfLife?"

Er, and you claim you've played it all the way to the end? Zen is the alien planet bit at the end, where you leave Black Mesa. Zen is the only sucky bit in HL1 (and it's not really THAT bad.)

re: "I've read a lot of people comparing "Zen" of HalfLife, to "Hell" of Doom3! Are they that similar?"

Yes. You leave the Mars Station and 'go to hell'. And it's really sucky; you've seen it done a thousand times before, and better. Still, this section of the game does has some impressive 'boss' characters. Still the same sucky gameplay as the rest of the game though...

re: "I've read so many inconsistently comments about Doom3"

Yep, it's one of those types of games, I guess. I thought it sucked, others seem to love it. Best thing to do is try it yourself and see what YOU think. Oh, and if you do like it: BUY IT!

Want to know why so many people are complaining at doom 3 its been wa to over hyped and people expect way to much from it, same fate will meet HL2 aswell, been hyped for 2 years, when it comes out it will sell a bucket load but peeps will hate it due to them seeing all the new toys already.

Might I remind people that we will not tolerate any warez discussion, regardless of whether you give justification for it.

Also, I have it on preorder.

well everyones saying hl2 is gonna suck, who i know
and its not the game thats making it suck
    Steam, the delays
everyone is getting annoyed with it and are starting to stop following its progress
which is good i reckon because it will come out and people will think, oh yeh forgot bout that one, buy it and think wow this is great, cant believe i liked doom3 (hopefully) then we can get some good mods churned out
apperently valve finished bug fixing and general game cleaning 2 or 3 days ago
so they have to get it out to vivendi and shipped to our pcs
    please!
30th sept is what there saying on websites, not official though (for hl2 release)

kez how has this thread been warez?
they caught the source theif, they have a new net code made and they have changed almost all the levels since the leak, so people who played the leak dont know whats coming, ace that means no spoilers before the release!

There are things that happen on this forum that you may not see... ie there *was* talk of warez, but there isn't any more.

Kez I also have it on pre-order and looking forward to it, basically you all need to play the game instead of slating it on others comments, some of you may enjoy it and seriously crap your pants when the monsters jump out the darkness, those who are complaining about not enough light, thats how its meant to be, makes you jump when the zombies etc latch onto your face. HL2 will be a hit and miss but same applies, play it and see how it is.

Problem with games such as these, they are massive titles for the year and its hard to keep secret, with leaks of beta's and every games mag after those screenshots and spilling the beans on features, you learn about the game well before playing it, so when you do play it they become disappointing as you already know what to expect.

Kez I don't think this will be warez, as the american version of the game came out a week ago and was shipping to the UK since.

Played it last night after a chum's Yankee copy finally turned up, honestly, can't say I was that impressed, got up to the delta labs level before I got bored and started messing about with cheats, tweaks and a chainsaw

Don't think I'll bother with it myself, I get a lot more fun out of UT2004

btw, once you tweak it, it's not that hard to get it running fairly smoothly on quite a basic pc, a gf4 ti4200 will be fine
