    Colin Mcrae 2005 Prob

Anyone got this game yet? Just got my copy from Play but when I install it I get a error about protect.dll, mcafee blocks this file as it thinks its a virus?? Are codemasters bundling virus with there games now?
Any idea how I can get the game installed?

really doubt its a virus if its coming off the CD, make a back up point and go for it. or scan with another anti virus and see what comes up.

Well you were right, its some form of very gay copy protection of the disc, first I had to copy the protect.dll file to my c drive to get the game installed (doesnt tell you this in the manual) and now everytime I want to run the game I have to disable the Virus Scanner
This copy protection lark is getting silly, I bought this game because I really liked the last one but because of this they may very well have just lost a customer

need for speed underground all the way think the 2nd game is coming out soon

with all good antiviruses you sud be able to allow curtain files so you dont have to shut down the program, look in advanced or something like that and "always allow" file or sumthing of that sort.

dl/ing the demo of CMR05 now , ive played the 04 game didnt think that much of it , not bad, but didnt grab my attention for very long

Yeah - I think it has something todo with the copy protection as you have to install a new driver for it to run ... as of yet CMR5 is on the list of uncracked games

Yep, this is starforce 3 protection in action. Nod32 also claims that protect.dll is a virus. I had to get a refund on this game as it won't run on my box as i have the latest version of Nero installed (came with my DVD writer) and hte game doesn't run if it detects some CD/DVD burning applications.

Therefore, Codemasters can kiss my **** and i will never buy anything with starforce 3 protection. Fighting piracy is all well and good, but when you **** off legitimate punters you have gone too far
