Just thought it was a good idea to post this from UBI - in case anyone does not use their account anymore but may use the same password elsewhere.

The Email received reads as follows:

Security update regarding your Ubisoft account

We recently found that one of our Web sites was exploited to gain unauthorised access to some of our online systems. We instantly took steps to close off this access, investigate the incident and begin restoring the integrity of any compromised systems.

During this process, we learned that data had been illegally accessed from our account database, including user names, email addresses and encrypted passwords. Please note that no personal payment information is stored with Ubisoft, meaning your debit/credit card information was safe from this intrusion.

As a result, we are recommending that you change the password for your account: XYZ

To enter your new password, click the link below: [link removed as its per user]
Out of an abundance of caution, we also recommend that you change your password on any other Web site or service where you use the same or a similar password.

I got the same email a few hours ago and had to change a few passwords in different places.

Ubisoft have also mentioned it on their official Twitter account so the email is legit

Got the same email last night, was a little worried at first, but I remember reading about it somewhere and all the links checked out

Yeah i was contacted by ubisoft by this as well, not that i remember any of my passwords relating to any of my accounts with them.

I was actually playing Anno 2070 last night when this came through.......luckily they only got encrypted passwords (although who knows how easy they will be to unencrypt) and no CC details are stored (not that most people would probably pay for anything through uPlay).....which on the surface looks like UBI does actually do security correctly (for the most part!)
