What's your favourite game of all time

Could never have a single favourite I don't think.

On the Amstrad CPC I remember Fruity Frank and Who Dares Wins II as my go to games. The others were good and would easily play them all again, but don't think I ever had more than about 6 or 7 games. I didn't ever seem to want others possibly because I was too young.

On the PC my favourite era was Doom II, Hexen, Heretic, Duke 3D, all very similar so there were always new maps and addons to play around with and quite often had ppl over for LAN gaming - never needed the internet, especially when Duke3D brought in the magic number 8.

On the SNES, Street Fighter II Turbo, Mario Kart, Super Mario World + the remastered versions of Mario 1, 2 and 3

The Settlers (One).
The Bard's Tale (One).

From my PC days:

EQ2 (which I've now quit)
GW2 (with which I'm experiencing extreme FPS issues... ho hum)

I think for PCs as in mid 90s Id prob have to go with Quake .. I was heavily into NIN at that time ( when they were actually the bomb and instead of bombed ) and i the whole tie -in to the fact Reznor had done the soundtrack to it just elevated into an even more mystical place , the nail gun was nice reference too - but a pretty bad weapon.

Having said all that Diablo wouldnt be far behind ( never played the 2nd )

Early 90s .. well it had to be GoldenAxe on the Amiga

Going to have to add Total Annihilation & Mech Commander 1 to my list. TA because its just epicly awesome and I wasted sooooo many hours. MC1 because it was one of the first games I ever got really into online back when I had 28k dialup and the only online lobby in the world was gamespy

Persona 3 for me.
Persona 4 was technically a better game, but the story and characters in Persona 3 just resonated with me in a special way

Bully (Canis Canem Edit) on the PS2 for the single player story. I really enjoyed playing through that game, I was hoping Rockstar would make a sequel.

Call of Duty United Offensive on the PC for the multiplayer, I put far too many hours in on that game!

Half Life

I have more than one:

On the PC: Doom (all of them), Half life (all of them - imo is one of the most immersive gaming experience ever), and Deus Ex (the first one, loved the multiple endings).
On the PS3: I have a few but the Uncharted franchise and GOW are ones that I enjoyed the most. Oh GT5 too, great racing game.

As a single player experience I'd say Freespace 2, the story was just awesome and epic, and sent shivers down my spine, the game felt full and mystery and darkness, and I still love the intro, one of my favourites to this day.

For multiplayer it has to be Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance (and now Forged Alliance Forever community lobby), still playing it - 6 years and counting.

Difficult to answer really. I played SW Battlefront I & II for so many hours with my friends but we probably spent longer on Time Splitters 2 & Future perfect (anyone looking foward to Time Splitters Rewind?).
