    Re: Oculus Share

why is oculus using the cry engine 3 logo? isn't it copyrighted?

    is very similar to

images from kai's link and http://mycryengine.com/

    other than that.

I cant really see this tech taking off, other than the initial nerdgasm impulse buying.
VR in my opinion seems to crawl back just like 3D tech keeps doing, I just about remember the VR booths that came to woolworths in the mid 80's and watching kids flail about on a platform with rails on it so they didn't fall over.
and as for 3D tech being new, well... http://www.theverge.com/2013/7/3/449...orrors-to-life
that's been around since the 19th century.

I imagine in 2100 or so, VR will pop back up and the geeks of then will go, "ooh wow new tech, and in 3D too. shut up and take my money."

I'm willing to be proven wrong though, if this is still going in 5 years and not faded into 'just a gimmick' I may decide to take it seriously.

otherwise, its a meh from me.
