I've just noticed this available on Steam early access, I got the original when it was release and still play it every now and then.

Has anyone here had a go on the new version, does it look like it'll be worth getting?

I had vast amounts of fun on the first one but am still debating about getting the second, not too sure about the new "surf" modes. Me and a few friends are currently looking at setting up an audiosurf party just to get some people together for drinks and music, might get the second one for that. Ideally there would be some kind of co-op play.
