Seems that a few people have got their consoles early, one user has posted a ton of pics showing the UI/gamercards/etc

MS have already banned his console

UI looks cluttered as hell to me

Just to update - Major Nelson is stepping in to those that have been banned and will unban consoles/accounts. Although he didnt say when.

This was a bad move by MS, extremely bad PR.

There was no legitimate reason to ban them. The Youtube videos were not against US law. And MS have told others that have early consoles to go ahead and use them.

reads to me more like they were blocked, not banned, since it was the console that was denied access not his tag. and thats probably for software reasons, if its not released for two weeks, then theres plenty of time for code releases and fixes, so they might not be fully finished with the OS. good enough reason for me.

Fair enough blocking them from connecting to xbox live, a ban is a bit much! Hope they get it resolved before launch

A good point, but they only did it to the people that posted online about it and uploaded videos.

Those that kept quiet were allowed to carry on.

    If anything its discrimination.

Apparently they won't work anyway because they have to be activated online, which is disabled until launch. Give it a week until someone hacks/mods it

As it says here http://majornelson.com/2013/11/09/a-...d-in-the-wild/, the consoles will be restricted from connecting to xbox live until closer to the release date, meaning they will probably be back online before launch.

Against those that decided to put what they had online in the public domain. As consumers they had not signed an NDA, and if MS said to some to go ahead and use it, then ban those that did that then showed the world, its discrimination.

That's not a trait, but I sometimes forget not everyone posting is English What you describe is at most MS just changing their mind, or maybe even being disingenuous, but discrimination is the wrong word to use in that case.

Now would be a great time to remind owners of the consoles why the planed online DRM requirements were/are outrageous.

Bought an expensive console and game? Unless we say otherwise you can use it as decoration.

I'm still part of the vast majority that wasnt against the online DRM thingy. I think 24 hours needed to go to 48 hours. And as a minimum game prices would need to be capped at £40 maybe even £35.

If that happened it would align closer with the PC and steam, which I dont have that much of a problem with.

UI looks not too bad. more metro style and bigger picture, it maybe looks cluttered at beggining but once get used to it, it will be fine.
