Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

With a full week to go before the release of the next edition of Elder Scrolls (and for me that's one more week to clock up as many levels in BF3 before I'm lost to the world of Tamriel), I thought it best to start a thread here in an attempt to gauge the community's thoughts of this massively hyped game.

So, with all the information released already, and the countless repeat sessions of watching the E3 demo, what is everyone's opinion on this game so far? Are there many Elder Scrolls fans here? Is this all just a massive hype and it'll turn out disappointing like playing a vanilla version of Oblivion?

I'm interested to hear your thoughts!

I`ve read a few previews of the game and it sounds awesome> Edge talked about how the people in the preview group with them all had a couple of hours to play and each had totally different experience so it sound like it will be open eneded

Looks like its going To Be a good game as long as you can explore as much as oblivion im happy and the dragons will be ace and the dark brotherhood can't wait

I will definately get it, just not at release, as I still have plenty of other games to play, and also don't have the cash spare for a full price game at the moment.

Unfortunately I'm in the same boat! I expect a Christmas present will come of this .

I cannot wait for skyrim, some people would get excited about christmas, but getting skyrim will be enough for me it also coincides with me getting a new computer, hopefully, if it arrives. Thinking about it, i've had a new computer for the morrowind and oblivion too, although my first computer had morrowind bundled with the graphics card.

Does look good and will get it eventually (maybe next year) i don't think it will get much of a look in with Dark Souls on the go at the moment

More of a Fallout guy myself but I plan on giving it a try.

This probably sounds silly but Oblivion seemed so big that I couldn't be bothered to explore it, but that was probably down to me not wanting to get in to such a vast game at the time I was playing it.

My pre-order from Simplygames was despatched today and as long as I get Skyrim on Friday, I'll be happy - its not as if we can play it before midnight on Thursday night/Friday morning anyway.

I decided to get a 360 copy, so surely if I get the disk I can play the game?
