In case you didn't know. The Source SDK has now been released for purchasers of HL2. You can download and use it immediately.
For those of you who don't know what it is, it's the Source (the games engine) Software Development Kit. It includes hammer (a map creation package) and the model viewer as well as documentation on how to use it.

i.e. if you bought hl2 on steam, you can get the sdk NOW. if you are buying hl2 in the shops, you have to wait to get the SDK
