    Decent headset and microphone

Can anyone recommend any decent microphones with and without headphones? I'm after a not-too-expensive set for Counter Strike and UT2004. 'Phones and a microphone might be easier, but would lose me my 5.1s, so I'd like to consider both types before making up my mind.

Looks nice MasterFlash, good price. How convinving is the 5.1 effect, given that the cones are about an inch from you ears? It would need to be very good to warrant losing the effect of my surround setup.

The surround isn't perfect but pretty close, When I need too I turn off my speakers, grab the headset and can blast away till the sun comes up. The mics top notch too, very good quality.

Changing to the headset doesn't lessen the gaming experience - I had no problem with my pair and would fully recommend them.

i had that problem with mine- some 'unusual' wiring means that unless i lean my head to the left, i can only hear out the right
what i CAN hear is good quality stuff tho

I think I got a crack pair of the Medusa 5.1 headphones....I get some serious interference through the amp. It gets worse when I move the amp about, only it’s more like the angle of the amp, not the actual location. They sound quite good as normal headphones (without the amp). I thought it sounded like that because it was a cheap amp, but thanks to this forum I now think differently.

I got em off ebay, I'm currently trying to get the guy to take em back for a working pair.

I don’t suppose anyone has a link to an official statement saying that there were faulty sets sent out?

    Had the same problem
I found that was to do with electrical interferance from all the volts in my pc-after moving the box onto the top of my desk away from my case, it was ok

I tried that one, even went downstairs and plugged it in my dvd player and still got interference. I don't think the cables will be long enough to get it far enough away from my pc...

Do they have surround? I think thats the main selling point of the Medusa, they are the cheapest 5.1 channel headphones
