    Very cheapo projector

    http://www.boysstuff.co.uk/product.asp?id=11781

Well, as i said, its CHEAP, so remember that before flaming about the quality of the picture or brightness.

Now, its £259, the res is only 480*234, however, this would probably be good enough for a bit of gaming action or even DivX?

The brightness is stated as "Luminous flux – 200~300IM", what this is i dont know, but I guess one of you brainiacs might know..

I just got one for 1k which has 1000 lumnis - this projector (the one you posted) would have to be used in a pitch black room to work..

As i said i was mearly bringing it to peoples attention to get some views on it, I can barely afford it what with MOT, bills and such all seemingly coming within the space of 2 weeks!

I think its one of these incredibly cheap, but really not worth it. Might as well save up for a decent one. But still a nice find.

It'd be fine for TV watching (as TV is about that res), and DVD/Video etc. ... PS2s process at that kind of resolution as well so it'd be fine for anything TV based although probably not ideal for using with a PC.

    And Yeah - 300lumens isn't a great deal.

Well couldnt you just change the bulb, brighter bulb, brighter picture. I know bulbs cost quite a bit, but not THAT much.

Well maybe they might, if they are giving off a specific colour of white, they might cost moreto make. Could just replace it with a normal 100w bulb (at a guess..) but the picture would be yellowishin comparason to a proper bulb.....

if you were able to get another 100 quid, then your into second hand 'decent' projector territory.
a panasonic ae100 with reasonable use would be around the £400 mark, and would blow this thing out the water.

Steer clear. It would be like buying a car with no steering wheel and no wheels or tyres. Might save you a few bucks but ultimatly you will end up frustrated when trying to use it

NEC VT46 - £800 odd, 1024x768 looks great, very bleedin bright, amazing short throw lens so the projector can be very close to the screen and still give a big picture. Best projector ive ever used for the cash, and ive used a few!
