    MORE HL2 Backup Woes!

Yes all, its another HL2 q! Sorry!

Used the built in backup utility to put HL2 and HL:S onto a dvd, and they both just fit. So I let it run amd it produced a single file. I double clicked on it to check it worked and it came up with the "what game to install" dialogue, so i guess all worked fine.

Then i wanted to burn it onto a dvd, to have a hard copy. I used Nero and when i tried to select the file, it stated that i cant use the ISO mode compilation as the single file was over a certain size, and that i had to use UDF mode. I tried this and i was a bit gutted when the file didnt open after burning in udf mode. Anyone successfully burned the large file onto DVD?

you could always rar it up with zero compression and split it into several files then just burn that to disc

That seems real strange then. It even happens when i use nero to burn it to an image, then mount it. I gues that rules out the DVD disc being the flaw. Its probably is some option in nero i've buggered up.

@copycatuk - you say you used nero to backup a 3gig file, was that with ISO mode, or UDF?

Use some other software to burn or create an image. Try....

I have never liked Nero personally.
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.
