    PSP - UK release date = 25th March 2005

    1 day after my birthday

    http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/...ation_portable

Im thinking of importing a few, and selling them at high price about 2 weeks before release to local kids with more money than sense. Could end up with a free, paid for UK PSP at launch

    A DS?

Well, your choice , they look ok, no problems with them i suppose. I was just disappointed with their GBA effort. Skimping on the 3D chip really disappointed me after all the hype of 'PS1 power'. I think they under-achieved a bit with their latest effort too. I dont mean to jump on the graphics bandwagon but what i see from the DS graphics-wise is what i expected from the GBA originally, and now they are 4 years too late

But yeah, its good to have a choice, and i wish nintendo good luck, im actually concerned for them to be honest

Wow, the announced list is already looking great:

    Advent Shadow
    Ape Escape P
    Battlefield PSP
    GT4

ahhh...theres too many to list, but just those games alone would justify the purchase

I personally am a little sceptical of the power the PSP is supposed to have... It's either going to be not as good as the current screenshots and movies are making it look or it's going to cost quite a bit more than the DS. And the DS has a lot of good stuff going for it - wireless play / chat without killing the batteries and multi player games without everyone having to own the same game (though that was promised for the GBA and was rarely delivered)... Unusually for Nintendo though I'd say the launch games SUCK. Hopefully by the time they release it over here they'll have a stronger line up. Also - don't count out the DS on power - even if the 3d hardware isn't super the CPU is meant to be quite quick so you may find that a few of the developers can create something a little more impressive (if they could do doom and such on the GBA then the DS ought to be capable of something a fair bit better)

Price is already announced at a couple of stores at max £180, i find that to be very fair. I was ready to pay £300, and if you import you may find yourself paying as little as £140

But it is exciting to see if they can actually bring this thing to market, I expect there to be some major problems with battery life and heat but its all good to see the events fold out and at the very least Nintendo will continue to dominate the market and i wont be buying another handheld for years

Yen price is just over £100 console only, and that's the official price..

The reason it's so cheap? The new PS2 is going to be making up for the loss on the hardware..

The console is as powerful as it's been made out, the only sticking point I can see is the battery life..

but as I said, I should have one fairly soon, so I'll let you lot know what it's like

Screenshots dont look to bad, not quite PS2 graphics but good, remember also its rendering a lower res than on the PS2 so less power is needed for good graphics.
