Best or Most Innovative Games Ever ??

    Hi,

I got in an argument last night with a mate about the best games / most innovative invlovement in the gaming world, ever. Everyones got there favourites, so I was wondering what everyone else thought.

I came up with as the top 2 as Final Fantasy 7 & Quake 3, but had these in a top 10

Bomber Jack, Pacman, Quake 3, Battlefield, , Zelda 3, Secret of Mana, Super Mario Kart, Gran Tuersmo, Final Fantasy 7, Street Fighter 2

Dungeon Keeper, I knew it was different before I played it, but once I started following the guide in game it was unreal! I might have to reinstall it actually!

Command and Conquer, Elite, Exile on the BBC micro.
pretty much nothing thats been released in the last 5 years is new or innovative, by my definition of the word.

Sure all of those you list are good games, but apart from Pacman and Gran Turismo are ground breaking...

Final fantasy VII, by the whole definition was prequeled by 6 others

Dungeon Keeper is a good choice by Raz, Cannon Fodder is another imo. Sensible Soccer, then i'm sure there are other amiga games that again form original gaming ideas come from too.

Favourite games? Dungeon Keeper 2, Command and Conquer: Red Alert, Warcraft, Morrowind, Unreal Tournament, Total War, Black and White. I'm sure I'll think of some more in a minute!

Thats a very difficult question, but if I were to choose one without too much thinking I would say Shadow of the Beast II.

I'd definitely rate the following as innovative: Silicon Valley (N64), Everquest, Street Fighter, Mario Series, Exile (glad i'm not the only person who's played it ) Final Fantasy series, and Elite (the first one)

Totally agree here. Those 2 games got me playing for days on end.The Lost vikings was another amiga game that had me hooked. Then came a couple of games can't remember the first games name lol Another Level i think and it's follow up Flashback. They were all about gameplay, whereas nowadays more emphasis is put on the looks of the game.!!
