Borderlands Pre Sequel! Finally!
It's finally on its way guys! The third installment in the Borderlands franchise is being released on PS3, Xbox 360, Linux, and Windows on October 14th! The plot will take place before Borderlands 2, and follow Handsome Jack's descent into villainy, focusing on his escape and capture of the Hyperion company's base on Pandora's moon Ellipse.
Unfortunately there will be no vault hunters as playable characters, but instead you will play as Handsome Jack's henchmen. There are four new characters. Below are their names, and category.
Athena: The Gladiator, also a rogue assassin of the Atlas Corporation first introduced in the Borderlands DLC campaign The Secret Armory of General Knoxx. As her primary skill, Athena can use a temporary shield to absorb damage, which can eventually be upgraded to make the shield itself into a weapon that can be thrown at enemies, and even allow it to absorb elemental damage which can in turn, be reflected back at enemies.
Nisha: The Law bringer, first appeared in Borderlands 2 as the sheriff of the town of Lynchwood. Her primary skill, called the Showdown, increases her gun damage and speed,, and allows you as he player to swiftly switch between enemies in the area. her skill tree, called the Law and Order, contains skills oriented towards collecting buffs known as "Order", can heal and recharge health and shields or temporarily increase other stats depending on the number of Order stacks collected. This chick sounds legit!
Claptrap: The Fragtrap, is the last remaining robot of its kind in Borderlands 2. His skill, called the VaultHunter gives him and sometimes his allies one of several different abilities depending on the current situation. Among these effects are the skills used by the previous playable characters in the franchise.
Wilhelm: The Enforcer, can become increasingly augmented with technology and weaponry over the course of the game, transforming him into the more familiar cybernetic form he possessed as the second major boss in Borderlands 2. Actually, I wouldn't call him a major boss. :)
Check em out!
Any thoughts so far?

No signs of things quieting down at the moment with some potentially huge contracts coming in following IBC (Broadcast tradeshow). but I should be online at some point over the weekend :)

Great - we'll have to catch up! I've got installed a shiny new GTX 970...it hasn't improved my BF4 skills, but the game looks lovely! :)

I have to admit, following my struggles with SLI and my GTX660 Tis, i have been very tempted to jump on the new GPU bandwagon, especially given the sale that was going on at OCUK recently, but im standing fast until we see AMDs cards!

I wonder if the Borderlands Pre-sequel has any graphical improvements? I liked the cartoony look of the BL & BL2, but I don't think it stretched many cards graphically. Yeah, I'm sure AMD will have something up their sleeves. I do have a preference for NVidia though, for me they've always been just a bit more stable.

To be honest, the graphics haven't changed much at all. Out of curiosity, what do you guys prefer to play Borderlands on? PC? Xbox 360? PS3? Is anyone sad that the pre sequel isn't going to be on next gen consoles?

BL2 will run fine on a single GTX660TI and I expect so will the new one.

Im aware of this, the issue is i have had to dial back the settings on games like BF4 which are considerably more demanding. Bear in mind im on 2560 x 1080, so i need a dab more than the average horsepower.

TBH,I think you are better off waiting until the GM200/GM210 based cards or the R9 390X are released:
