Seen a bit of gameplay of the game, im not usually a fan of this kind of game honestly but definitely considering getting it from what i've seen, looks incredibly immersive though.

Definitely not for the faint of heart as has been said though, friend of mine was saying after only a few hours of play he would probably be having alien nightmares for the next week while he plays it XD

    Re: Alien Isolation

Ok so I finally got around to finishing the game this weekend and it turns out I didn't get bored or frustrated with nearly sixteen hours of sneaking, hiding and brown trouser moments. Some of the backtracking was irritating (as always seems to be the case in survival horror) but to be honest I only have two real issues... First of all the ending was just not as satisfying as it needed to be. It was in keeping with the franchise, but I needed more from it and even a slightly different edit of the final cut-scene would have made a vast improvement.

Secondly the achievement whore in me is very annoyed that I didn't get the achievement for completing the game without killing any humans.... Did I lose out because I consistently used noisemakers to lure the Alien towards inhabited areas so it could butcher my potential enemies for me? Nope. It was because I used the stun baton twice, why give me a non-lethal combat option, tell me it can be used to stun androids or knock out humans and then penalise me for using it? That really is just plain daft in my opinion.

I may go back through it one day in hard mode, farm all the achievements but for now I'm quite happy to say I played it all the way through (as many reviewers clearly haven't) enjoyed it much more than even I expected and would happily recommend it to the right kind of player because despite the issues for me this has probably been one of if not my favourite game of the year so far

    Re: Alien Isolation

Sorry to necro an old thread, but I got this 2nd hand for my newly acquired PS4, and have to say it's one of the best games I've played recently. It's SO well done, especially the sound as the movement sensor bleeps from inside the controller, and the way the music subtly changes when you are entering an area with the alien or androids.

I love the graphics too, really capturing the styling of the original movie.

Really hard, but well worth a play through!
