Vintage games that I should play

I have decided to go on a personal mission and play all the popular old games that I never played when they were all the rage. I have come up with a few, but please feel free to recommend others. Please note that the graphics need to be half-descent ( i.e. better than Half-Life 1 ).

    1 Deus Ex original
    2 Burnout 3 Takedown Completed
    3 Quake 4 Dropped, didn't like it!
4 Half Life 2 Graphics is too PS2ish
6 Metal Gear Solid- all of them!
    7 24 The game
8 Splinter Cell - All before Conviction
9 Prince of Persia ( Sands of time, Warrior within, Two thrones )
    10 Descent
11 Cyclones ( just for the sake of it )
    12 Alan wake Completed
    13 Resident Evil 4
    14 NFS Underground 1
    15 NFS Underground 2
16 Gears of War Dropped , buggy , cannot change Video settings!

Command and conquer series? Generals is pretty fun, but you may have picked them up. Need For Speed Underground 1 & 2 if you can get them to run. Portal

Burnout: Paradise is better than Burnout:Takedown, IMHO.

Nope! DJ Stryker, better soundtrack, Crash challenges ... Burnout Takedown is the best game in the series

I guess I should have checked what platform you would be playing on, I've assumed it will be PC, which would mean playing Burnout 3: Takedown using a PS2 emulator, I think it only came out for PS2 or XBox 360, I don't think it was released on any other platforms. Paradise was released for PC (ported most likely) and having played both, I preferred the Paradise on the PC, but then playing at 1920x1080 instead of 576i on my PS2 probably had a lot to do with it, also I preferred the open world approach in Paradise as I liked driving around just to explore, do stunts, or simply take in the sights as well as the online challenge modes which I found to be more entertaining than the Crash Challenges on Takedown. I don't think I could say that one game is better than the other and state it as a fact, I just remember preferring Paradise and getting to the point where I only had one gate left to find, so I got to 99.9% completion.

LOL at Alan Wake being VIntage !! I'm still playing it, crapping my pants and failing to get through sections.

Q4 is one of the best ever made.. you're missing out by not playing it all the way through!

If Alan Wake is Vintage then you should play CoD 4 through.. it's top top class!

Maybe calling it Vintage is a bit of a stretch, classic might be a better word, either way it still deserves a place in this list as it's a masterpiece, sophisticated narrative, compelling gameplay and stunning visuals make it a winner in my books.

I was just looking through my Humble Bundle keys and noticed that I have a spare Steam key for Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box. Post to let me know if you want it and I will PM you the key.
