Ye, COD4 lives on to this day on PC due to the custom maps and clan run dedi servers. I myself am port of the {BHC} Clan that runs the big MW4 mod if anybody here has played it.

There was something on PCGamer a while ago iirc (think it was pcgamer) about some of the infinity ward guys passively discussing remaking COD4 in a new engine (thats a bit of a joke in itself). They were discussing it as more of a what if though, and even then I doubt we would get the same COD4 we know and love.

The new engine would be great, as the engine limitations for modding and mapping are a frequent issue for PC modders (I'm only a very novice modder and even I was running into engine limitations every so often). But based off the hash that was MW3 dedis, and BO1 terrible mod tools, I wouldn't get my hopes up for a good re-release.

It's actually about remasters in general, but they refer to COD4 and BO1 specifically. As I recalled though, its more just them saying hey it would be nice to do this, but we probably wont.
