erm you mean CS: Source dont you?

CS 1.6 has none of those features that you mentioned, its a buggy slow frag fest ala quake 3...its not CS

for CS play CS 1.5 or CSS They are the best competitive team games around, hence why we have a CSS clan

CS uses the half-life engine which was a modded version of the Quake 1 engine

CS:Source has not got any attention yet at any big name tournies, e.g. CPL, WCG etc.

CS1.6 is still the biggest prize awarding team game around. PainKiller has now got hold of the 1v1 market since CPL took it on.

It started out as based on the quake engine, then moved to the quake 2 e, apparantly...

But it still uses the re-written code of the quake engine, so, it's based on the quake engine I would say.

http://collective.valve-erc.com/index.php?go=q1_or_q2 on the valve developer site sheds some light - quake 1, with a few lines of quake 2.

quake 3 wasn't even RELEASED when half lfie came out

www.bluesnews.com/guide/halflife.htm would have some screenshots from when it was literally a quake 1 expansion, if blues news wasn't down

If I could just get the pak files for the quake engine "mod" then i could play half-life on my phone!!!!

Anyone know if this would be possible? It is an O2 XDA 2 (Intel Xscale 400cpu / PocetPc 2003).

    Ben

p.s. we are going a little off topic huh?

well pocket quake is out, but pocket half life aint possible. Its more than a quake mod, it is based on the quake 1 engine, but some of the later code is quake 2 or better And if you have tried pocket quake2 you will know it runs at like 4fps, if at all. The pak files are also over 1gig, so you aint gonna get it on a ppc/xda

CS:S is now as much fun as CS Beta 4 and 5 were (imagine no cheaters and only geeks playing it) but with sexier graphics.

I found CS 1 onwards a bit odd and they kept messing with the way teh game played (movement and hitboxes (I knwo they were/are screwed))

I am playing alot of CS:S on e-Frag servers ATM with other members of Team Phoenix Rising

It uses a hybrid of the quake 1 engine and the quake2 engine.

Steve did you not read the valve link?

its the Quake1 engine pure and simple, with extras. not a hybrid, just q1 with extra
