    Gamecube Worth £39.99?

Simply put, is a Nintendo Gamecube worth the asking price of £39.99?
I had one in the past but, now with all the upcoming and recently released nice titles for it I can't really resist. I can pick one up with a 4mb memory card and Defender for £50
Just wondering if any cube owners here can recommend them?

Ive got a spare Audio/Video phono sockets on the front of my dvd/vcr combo so could always stick the cube through there, and considering Resident Evil 4 is just around the corner... might be a worthwhile purchase

More than worth it IMO. There are some REALLY good games in the back catalogue and still more to be released... For example:

    Wave Race
    Luigi's Mansion
    Mario Sunshine
    Pikmim 1 and 2
    Metroid Prime 1 and 2
Zelda Wind Waker (and the new one at some point)
    Paper Mario
    Viewtiful Joe
    Ikaruga

There's more than that I'm sure - just can't think of them at the moment.

What have you got at the mo? PS2? xbox? What sort of games do you like?

Atm a Xbox... kinda ashamed to admit it but i was quite fond of the Poke'mon Stadium Games on the N64 they were pretty fun... Mario Kart was decent, as was Goldeneye but the new goldeneye is utter rubbish... I'm a fan of resident evil too, which the GC seems to have attracted a lot of

That was very good indeed... shame about Mario Sunshine tho on the cube, i may have only played a short amount of it but i thought it was pretty pants IMO compared to Super Mario 64

Not so sure about that (you're talking Sunshine right) I believe its quite easily sorted by Crash Bandicoot But, if you're talking Mario 64, well, that's one of my fave platformers nuff said.
Is it possible to play cube online at all? I've got myself an ethernet modem i use for xbox live so...

Crash Bandicoot games arent even fit to lick Mario Sunshines shoes. Only decent ones apart from MArio games in last few years are the Ratchet & Clank (most shooting but still), Jak & Daxter and Sly Racoon agmes

I have had lots of people say it isn't as good. It's still a stormer of a game though - I actually prefer it but then I played Sunshine first and Mario 64 later (well properly anyway). And it's only £20 even in the shops (£18 or so online).

The new goldeneye game is pants but then it has NOTHING to do with the team that made the first one. But that's EA for you... TONS of PANTS games.

    Aaanyway.... More recommendations...

    Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2 (#1 being just £9.99 @ www.play.com)
Donkey Konga (apparently a right laugh)
Wario Ware (it's only really the same as the GBA game so pants GFX for the cube but it is VERY SILLY and VERY GOOD too)

Not forgetting you can get a Gameboy Player for it too and play GBA / GB colour / classic games on your TV without doing your eyes in.

Hex speaks the truth, as always on gaming issues.

A Cube is worth £39.99 and then some.

As posted before, any of the following you won't go wrong with:

    Eternal Darkness: Sanitys Requiem.
    Metroid Prime.
    Viewtiful Joe.
    Mario Kart: Double Dash.
    Super Mario Sunshine.
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.
    Ikaruga.
    Super Monkey Ball.
    Super Monkey Ball 2.
    Wave Race: Blue Storm.
    Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour.
    Animal Crossing.
    Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
    Super Smash Bros. Melee.
    F-Zero GX.
    SSX3.
    Soul Caliber 2.
    Pikmin.
    TimeSplitters 2.
    Resident Evil.
    Resident Evil Zero.
    Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004.
    Burnout 2.
    Rouge Squadron.
    Skies of Arcadia.
    Sega Soccer Slam.
    Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour.
    XIII.

That will keep you going until Resident Evil 4.

Also consider a GameBoy Player and some classics like Advance Wars, Advance Wars II, etc.

Only understated and under appreciated by the chav masses who can't play a game without Wrestle XXX Skate FIFA Punch in the title.

Its common knowledge amoungst real gamers that its a quality machine with bags of decent games.
