    Classic old games you still play

    I was digging aond in the loft this morn, making room for more junk that has been displaced by this years round of christmas prezzies & I found an old box of disgarded PC games. Now, having played Dungeon Keeper 2(I have the original as well), for the past couple of hours it occurred to me how many peeople out there still have (& play) old games like that. I mean, they still have value & playability and can be an absolute blast.

    Next stop, the original System Shock & Abomination.

    Awww i loved dungeon keeper 2. 0iD, i don't suppose you had the error where you couldn't run the auto-run on the disk of that game? That was the biggest fudge up any game manufacturer had ever done in the history of games. Absolutely everyone who bought it couldn't play it XD!

    an ultima online expansion where the retail box simply contained a coupon marked 'you can redeem this for the actual game when we finish it' was bigger imho

    I had the error. Also the installation didn't finish properlyas it crashed out at the end. But the game plays fine.

    Dungeon Keeper 2 is an absolute classic, but I thought it doesn't work on 2000/XP?

    There's a patch, or I expect you can use compatibility mode...

    Start -> Run -> "regsvr32 %systemroot%\apppatch\slayerui.dll"

    if you haven't yet got compatibility mode in win2k (sp2 required)

    I keep dusting off Outcast and Hostile Waters for a quick play, then end up seeing them through to the end! If only Appeal hadn't folded, I could've been playing Outcast 2 by now :'(

    In my eyes, Black and White is still a fairly recent game. If Black and White 2 plays as good as it looks, it will be a fantastic game! The original was decent, but it had a few annoying niggles e.g. "We need more wood!"

    And now, I'm going to carry on playing DK2
    "Well, there was your Uncle Tiberius who died wrapped in cabbage leaves but we assumed that was a freak accident."

    Omnikron : Nomad Soul. Just fired that one back up (looks really damned good considering its age, first PC game I bought this one !) and recently played through American McGees Alice again.

    Installed Blood2 but you cant run it on XP at all, it says it cant run on an operating system built on the ntfs file system.
