Re: No Man's Sky
Is it wrong to have over 100 hours logged so far adding a few hours most nights.
Since the foundation update appeared, I find myself drawn to the game in the evening for a few hours either hunting lifeforms or mining resources.
I hope they keep adding more to it as I'm finding its a slow paced title for exploring, which to be fair is ideal after hours of stomping hordes etc on other games.
I think I've played this too much though as now I'm pressing Q + Space to melee jump and fly in other games and I have found myself pressing C to scan in other games as well :D

Re: No Man's Sky
Good to see the Dev's still updating it, got a refund a while back but not half tempted to buy again with the recent expansions.

Re: No Man's Sky
The latest update is pretty solid. Still, to put it in the context of the initial marketing hype, it's "early access" level of content. But it does offer hours of fun with a good deal more variety than at launch.

Re: No Man's Sky
Think I'm going to reinstall this. Are you able to land manually yet?

Re: No Man's Sky
No Man’s Sky update 1.5 is apparently in the works, according to several new developments in the Waking Titan ARG. It's expected to bring massive updates.

Re: No Man's Sky
No mans sky has improved a lot since it launched. What I like about the game is free massive updates this game haves. Where as most other games would make you pay to have up updates like this in the form of dlc or expansions.

Re: No Man's Sky
The fact it continues to update to this day is quite impressive to the game devs. Still quite underwhelming unfortunately.

Re: No Man's Sky
I've kind of wanted to try NMS for a while but do wonder whether it might be a bit dull. Should I really give it a go?

Re: No Man's Sky
I got it while on sale, very cheap. Tried it for about an hour, just seemed to be blindly running round a cartoon looking planet shooting at rocks if I remember rightly. The game didn't really give me any direction about what I was supposed to do. Quickly gave up, should probably try again and watch some youtube videos I think!

Re: No Man's Sky
I'm with you Rich, I just found the whole thing really boring, I guess you've got to just pump a good amount of hours in before it becomes enjoyable.

Re: No Man's Sky
It's a funny sort of game, it's sort of ambient and open. People who like structure and pulse-pounding narrative won't find much there. People who like fiddling around, building stuff, exploring.. they might find it's their jam. It's an open-ended toybox of sorts.
I think it appeals to a specific mood and a specific sort of gamer. I put some hours into it and enjoyed my time- but I haven't really played much since the big VR update. I ran it up to check it worked, but it felt like the VR UI needs some more time in the oven. I'm in no rush, it took ages for the game to be good after a sketchy launch- there's plenty of other stuff in the pile to play. I'll come back to it at some point, doubtless to have a good time.
It's a fine game, but it's quite possible that it's not for everyone. It's a bit niche. Some of us like "boring" :)
