    Looking for tank sim....

....any out there? A really good one that is.
And when I say tank I mean the 60Ton kind with guns...
Good sims seem to be few and far these days...

Try Operation flashpoint- ultra realistic modern warfare with helis, jets tanks and a load of other stuff, with user created missions availiable for download meaning if tank missions are all you want then that's all you gotta play.

Besides that, all that comes to mind is battlefield 1942 (or bf2, which is out soon) but that's by no means a sim- just good fun :/

Now that i think of it, i've never seen or heard of any tank sims..

There arn't that many tank sims about, the most recent sim-like tank game i'd guess would be Steel Beasts. I used to love Team Yankee on the amiga. More shooty than sim is Armored Fist 3, probably the most pleasing visually.
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

What klarrix said. Its got the best helicopter simulation (provided u have joystick) that i ever encountered too. Tanks are also nice. Should be about 8 quid from www.play.com with 2 expansion packs.

Says sold out but check elsewhere too.

Steel Beasts is a very realistic tank sim (versions are actually used by military units) but the gfx are very old school.
Steel Beasts 2 should hopefully be out this year with much improved gfx.

OFP is fun but I wouldn't call it ultra realistic

    MSI P55-GD80, i5 750

Steel Beasts 2 definately looks good, Buff, but the price they are looking to charge for it - they can go whistle tbh.

Yeah I tried the first steel beasts...GFX are very choppy... and game play a bit 'clunky' old skool. Same goes for Flashpoint m'friad...
The price shown I think is for the 'Pro version' (not available to public) of SB2, not out yet, but looks like the kind of thing I want...
I'll see if I can get a demo for the others....such as Armoured Fist 3...
    Thanx
